I have been on here only for a couple of months. I don't understand why some people would come on here and waste others time. I personally don't have pics on here because I want them to read to my profile and want to get a hold of me. Not because of picture. But But I do understand that we are visual people. But for one, I do read the profiles. I am here to meet someone, not waste people's time. or my own my time

I have chatted with some one that lied to me directly. I felt bad because I was being honest and truthful. maybe I am being critical. but but I am shocked.

It does suck to be lied to and yet shouldn't you be telling her this?

I know way back when I joined this site it was like the old cheers bar we all knew one another and it was a great place to hang out, and if a person was looking to date they could find it.
Also I get the no picture thang but honestly that is going to shoot you in the foot for most of the women.

By choosing to omit a photo this is a form of lying as its by omission and chemistry is a significant component of attraction and not offering this up front is unfair to all those who act in good faith and present several honest photos. Asking people you do not know to take a chance on what most others kindly offer is unfair, so that is in itself not helpful or facilitative

some do choose to engage others for no other purpose than emotional manipulation by feigning interest, offering interest with no genuine interest in actually meeting, offering false photos, offering false careers, income, location, and a variety of other dishonest ways to misdirect an innocent person to a dishonest and unpleasant experience...

I don't think its lying by omission to not include a photo, but a photo is helpful.

We 'match' people on physical attraction AND emotional/intellectual/spiritual compatibility.

Some place more significance on the former and others on the latter, but one or the other is going to come first. I have gone out with several a gentleman that had I first gone off of a photo, I would have passed up and have never gotten to know.

It was getting to know them that caused their 'physical' appearance to slowly become more appealing.


If we are attracted to a photo, we can initiate and ask compatibility questions later. If we are attracted to a profile, we can communicate and ask for a photo later.

We are all visual creatures no pictures~~~ I pass them up unless it is just to chat within the forums or e-mails no more then that..

I pass up no photos too, only because its less time consuming to browse the photos, than to browse/read every profile.

There are just too many profiles out there, so the photo is the quickest way to narrow options.

I'm sure I have passed up some gems in the name of expediency though.

Oh? I don't agree. However, if you don't like me because I don't have a photo up, that's fine.

Maybe he same as anyone else. They post a pic to make a topic and then delete it or the site deleted the pic
