yes volts = ixr...but in the states thats (in residential) 220 volts @ 60 hz. Typically for a conventional stove is usually protected by a 70 amp breaker. If the cook top is separate, then 40 for that and 40 for the oven.

THATS WHAT I WANTED TO SAY.......ONE OF THOSE WITH A 13A socket on it for.....things!

lol, you do have my curiosity up...what is the nominal voltage there? I'm assuming single phase as in two hots and a neutral?

OIUWRH's photo

live line and neutral return
230v....thot it was 240v mibbie

live=line i think its changed as it could confuse folk that it was the only current carrying line.....folk still just call it live and nutral tho...

service cut out at the board os 60a or 100a...in the sealed unit

lights 1200 watts.....5a
ring....30a
socket,,,,13a and 3000w...spurs permitted

Totally different, here you have a nominal of 220 - 240 volts, Main is at 200 - 225 amps. either leg to neutral, which is the return, will yield anywhere from 110- 120 volts, overall a 225 amp service @ 240 v will give you 54,000 watts @ 60 hz.
