No dinner is not good for a five year old. yes the balony sandwhich but
possibily a time out but im not the parent so i cant give advice. He
does need to be reminded of who is the adult ( parent but not in a
physical manner). See if he doesnt understand the respect for his
parents and adults at the age of 5 by the time he hits his teens it
could be really bad. Its a problem with authority and the fact that he
thinks hes grown up but hes not. I have a newphew thats 4 and he does
the same thing. Its really bad

Parents need to stay CONSISTANT at all time with their children!!!! If
she said meatloaf then it is meatloaf and if he doesnt want to eat what
is served then it is his choice. I dont think kids should EVER be sent
to bed without the option of eating what was served.
Just my 2 cents

.......................huh......................... when I was a
kid I was a very picky eater...and skinny. My parents grew up in
Texas...back there they eat everything soaked in gravy...they call it
smothered. Finally I stood on top the table and told them how revolting
smothered food was...I don,t remember what happened after that...!

lol ontario. Not this part of texas!! I remember packing up my little
red wagon and running away when I was 5. It
is about having your own mind and convictions, and 5 is not to early to
assert yourself. This is a minor squirmish-food taste is subjective.
So if the kid doesn't like something, so what! It's not the end of the
world. Save the stress for what's important. Toss him a sandwich and
call it a day for pete's sake.

Which is what my brother did, but his wife did not like being
overruled...!
