carcasses from slaughter-houses.

hooves, cartilage, skin...basically everything that wasn't used for meat.

This thread is not spam or advertisement (ahem... moderating JSH folks...)

Here's another story about the same on Snopes.com... with credible references

http://www.snopes.com/food/ingredient/jello.asp

I did not know Jell-O was made this way... I just knew I hated Jell-O...

As far as gelatin... isn't that an ingredient in Jams and Jellies?... so, like do we now stop eating peanut butter and jelly sadnwiches, too?

I thought pectin was used for jam and jelly....we also use honey on our peanut butter sandwiches ....

hmmm...not in jam or jellies, mostly. it's in many popular candies...almost ALL the gummy products. i MISS gummy bears, lol! marshmallows are mostly made with gelatin, but you CAN order vegetarian ones. anything, just about, that has dried icing on it...such as pop tarts contain gelatin (however, the ones without frosting do not).

it's hidden in bunches of products. sad

...as soon as you are born, you begin a road to death.

Doesn't matter what you eat, you can't beat the grave.

So... if they tell me ice cream will kill me, I am going to die very happily on the Rocky Road... maybe that's why one flavor is "Death By Chocolate?"
