Topic: The tying of the tubes............ | |
---|---|
This one is for the ladies ONLY.
I'm looking into having the procedure done. No, actually I have an appointment scheduled for Dec. Anyway, wanted to get some idea of what any of you have gone thru that have had this done. Was it painfull afterwards, was there a lot of bleeding if at all, what was the recovery like etc...... I'm planning to go back to work the next day. Were you able to? Thanks |

You should be able to go back to work, if your doctor says it is ok. You will be tender and sore at the incision site. But be prepared for the gas pain. They blow air or something in your abdominal cavity to be able to see and manuver around. ( that is if you are having this procedure laproscopicaly (sorry for spelling))That is painfull after wards. I was told to take some antacids like malox to help with that. Good luck.

I had mine tied at about 11:30 (had my gallbladder out at the same time) was home by 7 and doing stairs the next morning.
No bleeding and not a whole lot of pain... the gallbladder incisions hurt worse. Take aspirin, if you can handle it. |

i would reccomend instead that ur guy get a vasectomy, much safer and less exzpensive and also it can be done as outpatient
id hope a man would get a vasectomy to protect his wife/gf etc i would |

Jt, had 2 kids by 23 & went to the doc.
Got the big V. Now at 56, I have never had any problems & still going strong. Vasectomy is the best way, if you really want to take control of your life. |

Angel, I had it done a few years ago. Was having lapriscopic surgery anyway so had them tie 'em off while they were in there. It's NOTHING compared to the pain after childbirth if that's what you're thinking. If I recall correctly, I was doing just fine hours later, barely any bleeding at all. Didn't need pain meds or anything. Everyone has different pain tolerance levels though so not sure how you'll feel. I wouldn't worry tho. I'll keep ya in my prayers. Good luck.

I know this may not be the same thing but this site helped me TREMENDOUSLY..
www.HysterSister.com There is a lot, A LOT of support from other women who have gone through what you are getting ready to face. Others are waiting for their appointments, some are healing as we speak... FULL of useful information. Wait. I might have spelled the site wrong. I am having a brain freeze...must drink more coffee. You will find the site, your brain is working! |

There is a procedure where they kill off the lining of the uterus and then you don't have any more periods, obviously. Have known women who have done it and loved it. They usually had it done because of heavy bleeding, but check with your gynecologist.

I had it done after my daughter was born. I had no discomfort other than the stitches in my belly button. I use Ibuprofen for pain but did not use much after that surgery. Good luck

Thanks everybody. You guys are so giving with your information and I really appreciate it.
Richelle, I'm sorry to hear about your regret. I did some research on the lining removal procedure and it is used for women who have experienced heavy periods and no medication has worked for them. Thanks again everybody. |
