62 to 35
could have been another vote with the other outcome could have been a typo but the basis of the idea is listed correctly |
|

technically, the link to snopes refers to a vote in may, not june.
so it might not even be the same...however, there may have been wording or something in the bill that they objected to...blood boilage is a little extreme. |

Regardless to when or what, it was a waste of our taxpayer dollars to have them sit for that vote anyway. America is english speaking it is known world wide, this will never change so it shouldn't even be on the roster.

Belgium Stalemate Hits Record 149 Days
Published: 11/6/07, 8:01 AM EDT By RAF CASERT BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) - Belgium reached a record of 149 days without an acting government Tuesday, and slumped closer to a collapse of coalition talks between the country's French- and Dutch-speaking politicians. Linguistic strife was also the cause of the previous record of 148 days of political stalemate in 1988. Ever since the 1960s, Belgium has moved from a unitary state to a federal one where Flanders, Wallonia and bilingual Brussels have obtained increasing autonomy. There is no reason for a country to have one language! We should realize we are a multi-cultural country! Yes, No doubt about that, but we should speak one language! Since English is the most widely spoken, (by far), and first iy should be American English!! |

Are you fearmongering here? Trying to say that our government will collapse if English is not made the "legal" language here?

It is a waste of our tax payer dollars to pursue this matter any farther. Obviously enough senators believe the same.
