Clowns are the latest group to feel profiled and discriminated against. Taking a cue from Black Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter, we now have…Clown Lives Matter. No, I am not making this up. Over the last few months, communities across the US have been spooked by clown sightings, clown-related threats, clowns trying to lure children into the woods, clowns chasing kids with baseball bats, and clown attacks. People have been arrested for dressing as clowns and harassing people, schools are on high alert (some are even calling parents to warn them about clown sightings), and a man in Kentucky was arrested for firing a shot in the air after mistaking a woman walking her dog for a clown. The public is justifiably unnerved. So, in an attempt to calm people down and reduce clown-phobia, organizers in Arizona have planned a Clown Lives Matter march for October 15 in Tuscon. According to a flyer advertising the event, “this is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers. We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!” More than 100 clowns are expected to show up, and attendees are invited to participate in full clown makeup or masks. The more the merrier, right? *shivers* A Facebook events search revealed that there will also be a Clown Lives Matter march in New Jersey on the same date, and there is one planned for Halloween in Chicago. Are marches like this a good idea? While I sympathize with people who perform as clowns for a living, could these marches present a perfect opportunity for clowns of the deranged variety to show up, blend in, and do wicked things? As previously stated, one man was already frightened enough to fire a shot in the air when he thought he saw a clown roaming through his neighborhood. Someone dressed as a clown and carrying what appeared to be a machete has been spotted by several people in Tchula, Mississippi. Police chief Kenneth Hampton, who saw the clown for himself, told WAPT he has a warning for the perpetrator: I am more afraid for the clown than I am for the citizens because pretty much everyone here has shotguns. The bottom line is, if he’s running around with a sword or a machete, he’s subject to get shot in this area. I still don’t understand. I think it is some type of trend. It is basically a bunch of idiots running around in clown suits without any regard for their life. Hampton posted a warning to the clown on the department’s Facebook page: And clown pranks have gone terribly wrong in the past: take a look at these videos to see what I mean… videos here: http://www.thedailysheeple.com/clown-lives-matter-marches-planned-to-calm-people-down-but-is-this-a-good-idea_102016 |

Based on information from wikipedia and fox news this was attempted back in '43. Government performed a bunch of secret atomic experiments on clowns. At the time they were testing to determine how effective an atomic bomb would be on the Japanese. Back then everyone thought the Japanese were all Kabuki actors. Faces covered with lead based paint. So clowns seemed like a good substitute. And no one misses circus folk when they get stolen. They also received a lot of volunteers accepting a fifth of jack and a carton of camels for participation. After passage of the glask-steegals-bobo act in 1944 made clown experimentation illegal, they tried to hide the clown body evidence deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Unfortunately wild animals found the bodies and dug up mass burial sites leading to clown runoff polluting local waterways (even today, the northern lights are colored due to clown makeup suspended in water particles in the air). Wolves were hardest hit. They could no longer stalk their prey for they had big shoes, bright red noses, and squeaks that erupted whenever they moved. After the mass wolf die out of '68 the moose and reindeer population exploded. This led to border disputes with Canada as a lot of moose lived in AK but worked as steeds for the Canadian Mounties, their single largest employer. They'd sneak across the border and Canada was tough on immigration. Reindeer are hard hit in the job market having low skills and a tendency to drop out of high school. Depending on government oil revenue to get them through the year until their busy Christmas season. |

This is all a confabulaiton of media-enhanced faddisms.
The creepy clown costumes are some sort of fad, which got going because some news group published a story about creepy clown sightings. That set off lots of dweebs all over the place (there are always plenty of dweebs available) to copying the clown outfits, so they could feel they are a part of the "fun." Then police logically got involved, since many of these "pranksters" were behaving in a threatening and suspicious manner. Finally, the latest FAD "saying," (the XXXX Lives Matter thing) got slapped on by MORE dweebs, and here we are. I don't think that adding another fad label of "political correctness" over the top of it all will improve things myself. That makes it seem like a left-right political fracas, when it's clearly neither. I'd prefer to go a more direct and solution oriented route and declare that we've got a bunch of people indulging in foolish behavior that is likely to get them arrested or killed (as happens to so-called practical jokers a lot), and try to calm things down that way. |
