The FBI was originally called in because they automatically are on Kidnappings and they just happened to have a profiler who was heading to the scene with one of the Detectives, they didn't get the call until about 10AM. On the way there they found out that it went from a kidnapping to a murder scene and one of the lead detectives he was riding with asked him if he wanted to still come with them because they might still need his help (officially inviting the FBI into a local case).

The seasoned profiler said the crime scene made him sick. He has never in his career scene such a contaminated crime scene. The body was moved twice(at the very least) and he kept looing at Patsy who would stop crying and look through her hands to see if people were watching.

Within a very short amount of time he concluded someone inside that house committed that crime and they were finally able to prove it. Even if they reopened the investigation Burke can never be charged since he was only 9 and you have to be 10 to be charged for a crime. They might be able to get John on some kind of charges but the Statutes of Limitations has run out on most of them.

This is the one case that really pisses me off. I hate it when an innocent child gets hurt and this case was solvable until the crime scene got so screwed up and the fact that the Ramsey's are politically connected.
