i think this whole topic is one to make a person sick.

why do people hit animals? one the kind that want to make pain and sufferring.......
the next are the ones who truly can't avoid it because it is an accident,
or those that just do it for the hell of it, could have missed it, but chose to hit instead. those are saddists.

i once drove over a cat by accident in the middle of the night. it ran out in front of me, i guess as i could not see it. but i felt it under my volks wheels, and the damndest thing happened. i got out to look for it, and it was gone. i never will forget the feeling, and have avoided hitting anything. but the sick feeling has always stayed with me, and it always will.

Hi I'm Sonnygirl thanks for posting this..on animals. I am a animal lover as I save them all the time. If i canot locate the owner, I usely keep them, but most of the time you can tell how long they been out there, like dogs so skinny there ribs showing etc. and i see that here whene my cat's are crossing the side st this makes me so mad I'll scream at them if I'm out side. people like that have no respect for and thing alive, there not fit to be on this earth, they have no feelings, and certenly no hearts...Thanks oh and there are two sites where you can sign petitions thepetitionsite.com and care2.com

people hit animals because it is better to hit the animal than to swerve off the road and hit a HUMAN or a tree and KILL A HUMAN. it sucks to lose a pet but the alternatives are worse.

I think animal cruelty sickens anyone. The wealthy football player who dogfights. The senile 80 year old cat lady who has 200 sick cats in her house. The unruly teenage male who enjoys running over animals for sport. I guess you can say stop animal cruelty by supporting mental health. Hmmm makes sense to me.

And vick entered himself into jail yesterday morning. Heard it on the news. His sentencing isn't for 2 and a half weeks but he wants time served. Ok.

sure let me be Michael's judge (foot ball player )We need to stiffen the laws, put these ppl away, for quite some time, teach them a lesson for life and where they can never own a animal.. and make it a fallen, thats what animal rights is fighting for right now and ppl who have 200 cats something is defently wrong with them, get them fixed as soon as possible and this will never happen. and of corse i'd hit animal before a person or to prevent a wreck, thats no falt of mine...

I agree! but animal cruelty is an unfortunate product of society. I'm not sure if hitting an animal with your car rather than causing an accident qualifies as animal cruelty which I believe this thread is about.
