I want to add friends, and I'm not sure how? Please help

Go to their profile under the big pic to the right you will see Add as Friend once you do that and they accept it then they will be on your friends list as well as you on theirs.

Wanna add a friend .. well if you've checked this member's profile, whom you would like to friend with, then there are some options -- Email him, Match with him, Nudge him .. and Add as friend.
Use the last one. This will send a friend request to this person. You may like to add couple of words as well, but not necessarily.
If the member accepts your request then he/she appears as a friend in your account's friends list. It may take some time though ..
