I have four kids two with A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. Then I have my 2 babies. I have a hard time teaching my kids with these disabilities because there is really no time for one on one at my house. What do i need to do? And No there is no one in our life that can help us. I need help on what I can do on my own.

I don't mean to pry or anything, but if you qualify for Medicaid, there are certain community support agencies that can help you with that. My mom works at one, and they have workers that come out and help both parents and kids learn how to function, and also teach the parents how to handle the kids the right way. Also, if you didn't want that, sometimes those agencies offer training to parents on how to deal with kids with ADD and ADHD, so again, if you qualified for medicaid, you could even get paid for "working" with your children on their behaviors if that agency allowed you to do that.
I'd check around, though, because there are tons of those agencies around the US. If that doesn't help, sorries, but I could ask my mom for some tips since that's what she does pretty much all day, every day, and get back to you. |

Hello,
I was a teachers assistant for fifteen years, i worked with many children with ADD. Yes, i agree with you they take alot of work. My suggestion is work with the school closely, and they will help. At home you could try to set a time everyday with each one of your children, a one on one that works the best. Only let them work for about 15 minutes , then let them take a walk or watch a program or do something that they like to do. Then go back to the homework. Good luck and i hope this helps you. |
