When I was younger I could climb the highest tree, but I was terrified of thunder and lightning storms. Now, I hate heights and love the clash of thunder and lightning. Does anyone else feel your fears of anything, have changed from youth to adulthood for better or worse? didn't change i still afraid of worm So I guess asking you out fishing is out |

I think as a child I didn't have much fear except spiders..And yes I still have that one..
Now things concern me not make me afraid. I can remember when I was in my 20's I used to be afraid of spending my golden years alone now I am not so much afraid of that anymore. I am content and simply enjoy things as they come |

I think it is more that the things I desire have changed not so much my fears changing. Not much I fear past or present. True there are many things I avoid because experience makes it clear what a drag some consequences to actions or even in-actions can cause.

As I am getting older I am afraid to be alone all my life and worried about tomorrow.

When I was younger I never feared or even thought about incontinence or erectile dysfunction. Now every day somebody on TV is telling me I should, because I may experience one or both tomorrow.

As I am getting older I am afraid to be alone all my life and worried about tomorrow. I am sure you will find someone or they will find you...Then total bliss |

Sure they change. As you learn and concur things you feared earlier in life, the old fears are replaced by new ones. Everyone has fears. I do take on new challenges.. that I think most others would not. which always come with fear ( of some sorts, mostly fear of failure). But If I did not take them on, I would always wonder if I could have did it.. whatever IT was. These type decisions are not the reckless type decisions, I am not taking a header out of plane or cliff diving in Mexico they are mostly mental decisions to undertake something that I have not done or have no knowledge of...failure is always present and has real ramifications. that sense of fear of failure actually keeps me sharp.. works for me, may not for others JMO Fears are one thing...being able to cope and overcome them is something many of us learn as we age. |

Me fear change? On the contrary, I look for the stuff in seat cushions.

I think that only thing that changes is as we get older we realize we are not as fearless as we were growing up. Now we see what could happen if we climb that tree well if we could the body seems to tell us we are just not as young and limber as we once was...
But honestly the older I get it seems I get a bit braver to do the things I would not do when younger. |

It's called Wisdom.
"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things." |
