this might be a shot in the dark, but anybody remember this show? Probably my all-time favorite cartoon... too bad it only lasted 2 seasons. (i have the dvds too).

The episode wherein Jay's adoptive father describes his first date with his wife was priceless. I loved the show, it was truely great TV. I'm glad it's not in re-runs anymore, because they showed it late at night and I would stay up too late watching it.

Great show. Haven't thought about that one in awhile. Anyone remember Dr. Katz?

I agree about not showing it in reruns, because stations tend to butcher up shows just to get more commercials in. No wonder DVD sets are so popular these days.

"It stinks!" -- quoting Jay.
No, I loved that show. There is an episode of the Simpsons where they show Jay in a mental institution, saying "It stinks!" and the doctor is saying, "Yes, Mr. Sherman, everything stinks." |

yeah, that clip was actually right after the critic was canceled... so it was kinda a jab at the shows sponsors...
there was also an entire episode of the simpsons featuring Jay Sherman... he came to springfield to judge a film contest... Matt Groening hated The Critic so much, he pulled his name from the credits. |

And Jay said to the Simpsons, "And if you'd ever like to visit my show...." and Bart said, "Nah, we're not gonna be doing that." There were also a couple of good Eudora Welty jokes in that one....
