I hate when a rather large person calls an average sized person skinny and sees nothing wrong with that. But if they are called fat, they are easily offended.

that's probably due to cultural standards 'beauty' is sold as women on the skinnier side so being called skinny is not the same offense as being called fat its almost like being called rich or being called poor in our culture seems you can never be too thin as a woman, or too rich as a man

It is assumed to be not as offensive, but it is to someone who is physically fit. There may be ppl who struggled to gain weight and don't like how they look.

Oh no!!!! But usually that would be the day he will like you the most. When you are NOT all artificial and dolled up. I almost always find ppl that later tell me that if I was dressed a certain way they would not have talked to me

I was very thin when I was younger and it is really no easier than being overweight and having people critique you like they are grading your paper. I guess it is how society tries to compliment or conversate with another but if the only intelligent/complimentary thing a person can find to say is a comment about my body/appearance ( which most of the time someone has very little control over) I am kind of bored from the start. And if you get a compliment it really doesn't give you much of and opening since the only polite response is to say thank you.
