I lay me down Another endless night Gazing upwards Staring The ceiling is my confidant My old friend Always there when I need to talk Silent, yet the profound words ring in my ear The darkness, my comfort, surrounding me, huging me softly Helping me hide the dreams I hold Our debate goes on night after night 'What should I say' 'What should I do' 'What will the reaction be' 'I can't say that' 'You must be joking' 'No, that will sound stupid' Talking to myself, and answering, my friend the ceiling having an occasional say Oh why can't I sleep The day's I'm so tired I can't concentrate Thoughts driving me out of my mind This is crazy This is madness This is insomnia Wise old darkness interupts and whispers, 'this is love' |
