Topic: US plans $860m aid to Pak | |
---|---|
John Kerry in his proposals said the Budget includes $860 million towards sustaining ties with Pakistan and making progress to "disrupt, dismantle and defeat violent extremist groups"
$265milllion in military hardware. "Overseas Contingency Operations fund (OCO)will ensure the safety of Pakistani nuclear installations (pointed towards New Delhi); peace and progress with Afghanistan and promote improved relations with India." Defense Intel Agency's Vincent Stewart warned the US Armed Services Committee that "Pakistan's nuclear arsenal continues to grow ... increasing the risk of an incident or accident". For M2 members' info: 1. India has declared a nuclear 'no-first-use policy' in existence since 1999. 2. Pakistan has an extremely friendly relationship with China after it ceded a part of Pak occupied Kashmir to China. 3. Afghanistan has been the military playground of Pakistan since the Russians occupied it (since 1979?). 4. Pakistan refuses to bring to trial mastermind Masood Azhar who is credited with recent attack on India's airbase Pathankot and has provided him with 'protective custody'. Latest is MA is in a safe haven in Afghanistan(!) |

Economic dependence and addiction. Ask any school what happens when the government threatens to cut funding for not adhering to some rule or policy or program. |

US Secretary of State John Kerry has warned both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan against indulging in trade of nuclear weapons, saying there will be "all kinds of NPT consequences" if Riyadh went ahead with any such plan. Such a strong warning from Kerry comes amidst media reports that Saudi Arabia is trying to buy nuclear weapons from Pakistan. ....... "Saudi Arabia knows, I believe, that that is not going to make them safer, nor is it going to be easy because the very things that Iran went through, they would then be subject to with respect to inspection, NPT and so forth," Kerry said. Yesterday Obama / Kerry propose to dole out nearly a billion in cash and artillery to 'promote peace and stability in the region Today they warn both KSA and Pakistan of 'possible' NPT based sanctions. |

Instead of Pakistan using their money to expand their nuclear program, maybe they should use their own money to protect it or same some money by dismantling it.
Is there really any chance of nuclear war between India and Pakistan? |

Instead of Pakistan using their money to expand their nuclear program, maybe they should use their own money to protect it or same some money by dismantling it. Is there really any chance of nuclear war between India and Pakistan? since losing East Pakistan, what is now Bangladesh; the P Military had set sights on remaining part of Kashmir; the portion India holds. This would complete their land connection to China. India cannot back off an inch for security reasons. We had watched silently when China annexed Tibet and what did the Chinese do? Mount their missiles in high altitude Tibet. Don’t have to fly planes now to nuke any part of the world!! The civilian government in Pakistan has generally sought to negotiate with India; makes economical & cultural sense for both sides; and when we are close to a deal; the P Military would swing in with a coup. For a few decades now, since General Zia who set the SOP, 'death by a thousand cuts'; P. military has been sending hired guns to Kashmir; before the winters closed in. No need for coups; though Gen. Musharraf did it again in '98. Now we have a Kashmir problem in earnest. Is there a chance? Oh, yes; we call it military adventurism. 1. 2001: They tried to blow up Parliament while it was in full session; imagine that? What kind of war is this? There was a military mobilized / standoff; Clinton asked us to calm down. 2. 1999: Kargil war - a Himalayan route to China 3. 2011: P's Intel agency and the Bombay shoot massacre. 4. To top this all, P_Military is aware about India having a 'No first use' policy. All they have to do is keep stoking the Kashmir fire and bide time. |

8 F16s to Pakistan likely from OCF fund, if Congress does not approve it in the Obama budget.
Lockheed Martin informs Congress to 'approve' as American jobs are at stake. |
