“Staying in the Dark”


Do you really think you can create a spark?
In this heart that has turned dark.
The past has turned it a dark blue.
No longer believing one can be true.
For each time one has come there way.
Before long they seem to betray.
So tell me why this heart should dare.
Or give it another thought to care.
You speak of things so sweet.
Then in the end you act like it’s trick or treat.
And they find out real quick.
That’s its all been nothing but another trick.
Just to catch one off guard
And once again a heart is left scarred.
Just one time I wish someone would tell me.
Why do others do this can they not see?
That when you take hearts then just discard.
It makes them become cold and hard.
If all you want is desire and lust.
Then why crumble a heart that wanted to trust.
Just tell me one thing why.
Could it be because they were easy pry?
How do you know which ones to pick?
Is it some kind of magic trick?
Thank you for trying to create a spark.
But this heart chooses for now to stay in the dark.
