Ibuprofen brings down the inflamation on the inside and that is sometimes the cause of the pain and inability to move. You can take up to four (800 mgms) at a time but it is hard on your stomach. I find three of the 200 mg help when I have owees. The ice suggestion is good too. I heard that ice for an hour and heat for an hour is also good especially on moving parts. I hope this helps.flowerforyou

I'm gonna guess you may have tweaked a tendon in your hand. Using ice off and on for 10-15 min at a time with tylenol or something like that should help. As far as firing goes, it depends on if it's your firing hand or not. If you need extra support to hold it up, you might try wrapping your wrist. tHat's what I did one time when I was in the same situation.

I just happen to be an xray tech, a jam is like a sprain, ice and iburofen, and immobilize it.

well if it tingles, alot of swelling i assume, probably pinching on a nerve, im not a doctor by any means, but that's what it sounds like.

was on a steep incline the clay packed about like a rock lots of fine gravel on top of that, my feet went out from under me I ripped hide the full length of my hand, kept it cleaned up and kept myself full of painkillers, had a broken thumb and didn't know it now that thumb no longer bends just be careful.

Cold is for reducing swelling, heat is for getting blood flow to the injury. I would recommend you try alternating heat and cold but for movement use the heat and some analgesic cream or balm before the firing range. You will probably be using a model 870 pump I recommend you wrap your hand and immobilize your thumb.

Cold or heat should not be on for more than 20 minutes. It creates a rebound effect. 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off.

When you shoot it going to kick up into the bottom of you with a jolt. You are going to get a huge rush of pain, so be ready for it. Hang tough. Good luck. We are pulling for you.
