“Promises “

There are times when promises are spoken.
Things happen and they are broken.
To you I will not make a promise.
But instead can we just compromise.
And be able to understand.
Life does not always happen as we planned.
And at times things don’t work out.
The way we wanted, so do don’t doubt.
What I say to you just know.
Words when spoken don’t mean what you will do.
They are the things you want to but it seems.
At times that goes down hill just like running streams.
Float along then you hit rough waters before reaching the fall.
Going over grabbing only for air we start to scream and call.
For help not knowing what is next falling into the unknown.
At times we never know what will happen like the twilit zone.
We can’t predict what lies ahead.
So I don’t want to give promises I would dread.
All we can ask from another is to do their best.
And not make our times together feel like a test.
Promises that you say you will make.
To heart others will take.
If you don’t go through with the things you say.
They will come back to haunt you one day.

I have had the pleasure in the lurking form of my later self, to quietly sneak up on your poems and read them, I have to say I have loved them all, your strength in writing is unmistakably intense, so now is the time to share this to you, because now I've come out a lil of my shell...I've also watch from Tuneland and you show so much to the creative side, I dared to even comment on as I have only started writing I didn't think my response would be as one who knows poetry so well.

But as I do post a lil more of mine I have found that is not to be true, it's how you've touch people with your writing and that how you know you've made a difference in someone life, when they actually take the time to read and post to you how they feel...

You are a wonderful writer of poetry, and I will always look on in amazment to your future and past post.

First of all I would like to thank each and everyone of you for reading and the responses that each of you give so freely.
They do honestly make my day and brings a smile to my face.

But I must say I want to take the time and give a very special thank you to Noden. WOW I mean talking about leaving one speechless to no end and girl believe me that is hard to do with this mouth. I'm totaly overwhelmed by your words and awe struck as I read them. I must say I had to read them twice.
And for you to not want to respond because of your knowledge of poetry. Ohhhhhhhh girl I know diddle about poetry and that is the truth I only started writing a little over a year ago myself. As far as Poetry never would read it before why because the things I had read was way over my head they would be so deep I had no clue what I had read upon the page. So that was the end of me reading it till............... I came here in Sept 2006 awww then I stumbled into this section had only wrote 3-4 things at that time that no one had read. WEll due to CCP,Jim, SCG, and a few others I decided to post one I had done and due to the responses I got thought what the heck I will dabble with it somemore and give it a try. Well and here I'm a year later still the same person but I must admit my writing has improved and I found that nitch. But in no way am I any bettr than the next that post within these forums. And yes I will be the first to admit that the responses on the threads each time brings a smile to my face and touches my heart.

But I will admit that if any response that I have received the one that has truly touched my heart and grabbed my soul full force it is the words upon this page you left. I'm still awe struck. Just WOW THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! YOU ARE TOTALY AWESOME.

And Noden I have a news flash for you I HAVE READ SOME OF YOUR POETRY YOU HAVE POSTED TO DAY BEFORE I SEEN THIS POST YOU LEFT AND YOU ARE VERY VERY GOOD!! DON'T EVER THINK DIFFERENT!!

Poetry is what you make it and how others interpret it, but; saying this, when reading the poetry on these pages, I can feel the emotions of the writers. Some raw and unchecked, and others written from the very depths of the soul. I enjoy ALL poetry, the reason ? Well if someone takes the time to write, and it doesn't matter what the subject is, that in itself has to be appreciated. I look forward to reading these pages, I may not respond to all but I do read and give comments whenever I can ( time allowing ) So, here is big thank you to the writers of JSH
