It's raining here, in Hamilton, streets are wet with sheen, water dropplets are falling off the now ready fallen leaves of autumn, I love this season, I think it envelopes me whole, I took a 6hr walk yesterday through the Bruce Trail, the earth seems to rise into my nostrils filling my lungs with unmistakable power, glancing around throughout the forest and watching the animals get ready for the winter, they were so busy in there trained senses or what had to be done, they didn't even acknowlege me there.
I sat on a log, deep within the forest a prepare a lil fire, as I sat, I notice a baby deer watching me he came as close as he dared, I didn't make a move, as we admired each other at our perferred distances, his eyes where so big & brown, starring right at me, I could almost reach out and touch him...I was kinda scared but with a sense of awwwwwh, what a beautiful animal, those eyes, we stayed that way for a least 15 or 20mins. I even spoke softly to him, his eyes blinked just watching me speak as if he heard my words... after a while he went on his way, but before leaving he turned to me again for one last look, so I motioned a goodbye my friend, and thank him for sharing that special moment with me... I felt like a kid on an exibition, after putting out the fire, I continued on my way, seeing the squirels building there nest, walking along the streams, lifting the rocks to see if any salamanders where still about, I had with me a couple of pine trees that I had started from seed, so I planted them for new birth within the forest. I brought a couple of garbage bags to clean up what others had left behind...it annoys ![]() So today I thought I'd share what I did yesterday, but I do this at least 4 or 5 times a week, I just can't seem to get enough. So again I will say good blessed morning to yous..and hope your day goes well. ![]() |

Noden -- This is exactly the sort of thing I wish I could do more of....! Beautifully written, and a reminder that we are not the only species on this planet!
When I'm in Chicago, I will often go to Millennium Park, right in the heart of the Loop, and study The Bean, an enormous, silvery, reflective bean-shaped sculpture. The Bean is fascinating because of the way it reflects the buildings around it in such a warped and bendy way. A little like the old Fun House mirrors. You can walk under the central section of the Bean (because there's an opening there), and if you look up at the Bean's lower surface, the images of all the people around are reflected dozens of times, and warped. It makes for some great acid-flashback psychodelicatessen photgraphs. But what I like most about Millennium Park are the birds. They have all kinds there, and they're not shy about being photographed. I have a picture of a gull and a much smaller bird, it looks like they're discussing the weather or last night's episode of Smallville or something. One day, I saw a bird sitting on top of the Bean, and I thought that would make a good picture. But as soon as I started to click the button, the bird flew off. The picture I got, the bird in flight above the Bean, is actually much better than the one I was trying to get. I did see a deer bounding across a small back road last week, when I was in the nether regions of Indianastan. All I could think of was that I was glad there was so little traffic in that area -- would hate to see him get hit....! |

Yes Lex, I am so pleased you got the shot that wasn't intended in the first place, which is why spontanity comes into play & truly giving us unexpected pleasure, the bean, my that must be something to take a gander at...
Simple and yet amazing the wonders of the earth it abounds me to my greater self, I swear if ever getting the chance of exploring different regions of our planet I would clasp it up for all its embraced moments, I am at awwh, stuck, with its engulfeness, wonderous, entertwinded, composed, yet deeply stuctured manifest, I loose my breath, just taking it all in.... ![]() |

I have to agree.....I absolutely hate going into the mountains or a lake and finding trash everywhere! I always have an empty garbage sack in the jocky box of my truck for such occasions! I am a smoker and I won't even throw my butts on the ground. It always amazes me how people can leave all kinds of trash and not even think twice about it. Can't they see that they are doing to nature? Shame shame shame......

I know, in my conclusion to all of this, is why not get the inmates, and locals out there to clean our towns up...I mean, there should be maybe even camera's hidden in these spots to see who's littering, most of which are teenagers, is this what they want there children being raised in, don't they relize that they morals will change later on in life...
