The floor of this caffeine chalice is exposed
Almost bare

A burnt-umber puddle survives the last sip
One more swallow

This tepid flood soothes a wanting heart
Dilutes the urgency of this souls need to bare

Blinding...
The morning sun stings these atrophied eyes
Sleepy shuffle

With a gonzo gait stumble to the curbside perch
Check the mailbox

Again this hollow tunnel yields no words of comfort
Step back inside these familiar enveloping walls

Determined...
Wake the portal to the world resting on this table
Anxious typing

Give the guardian the key that unlocks the gate
Check for email

Again a blank page displays "no new messages"
This bare white screen stings atrophied eyes

Realization...
These vacant vessels hold no intended malice
Completely neutral

A solution suspends within their open confines
Null substitution

This surrogate substance displaces the void
A placebo until the satiating refill arrives

Powerful as always

though i am not in literature and poetry. but for this poetry is i can say "this is it" outstanding.
