Topic: Why don't people get replies back? | |

Thanks Drew---Thats kind of my point---but if someone asks you why you feel you are not a match--should you tell them honestly or let it go?

Ahhh, Beach, it is such a double edged sword.
You could always use the tag line...I'm just not that into you. Or if it is too early, tell them you are just not feeling the vibe. Help, I was just transported back to the 70's. Going to go bang my head against the wall. It will feel better when I stop. |

No one can tell you the right thing to say. Be yourself, because the person you should be looking for needs to be interested in the real you. Not a persona.

HA HA thats great--"I'm just not that into you"--fits but it is still not nice. Loved the book.

Reply, don’t reply, interested, not interested. All the statements here carry a bit of validity to them all.
For me I do my best to reply, and reply after reading the blurb of the person sending. If they are searching for something that I am not, I will let them know. Sure I might be passing on someone that might be great, wonderful etc. It’s a roll of the dice we all take. To the group set from Random_Stranger I am in Group 3. |

Let it go. If you spend your time worrying about the arse hole not writing you back, how will you ever find who your meant to be with. Especially if it wasn't something serious.

The thing is FrostyInTheField....there are some that are really interested in that individual, then first they would whine they didn't reply, next they get ****ty or pissed if the person reply and say sorry blah blah too. lol
I think if you are really interested in that person and made the effort to contact them, they read your message and didn't bother to reply that is a better and gentler way of taking the hint. No matter how nice your reply is, it is like a let down but if you are smart you don't allow that to beat you down. |

I like it much better to get no response--it sends the message--and if you ask someone why they have responded negatively or have not responded--I feel you should be prepared for the real answer--and not something sugarcoated. Don't ask a question you aren't prepared to hear the answer to---thats why I never ask!!!!

I feel if you just don't give a crap that's best.

I guess I would explain why.

I hate to say this cause I always used to reply to people BUT, I have found that even when I reply and tell some people the honest truth that I am not interested, they do get pissed off. OR on the other side of the coin, I've had two people so far that have continued trying to talk to me after I told them the same thing.
So I guess my new tactic is to only reply to those who interest me and only turn down the ones that I think can handle the truth and move on. BUT how in hell do I figure out which ones can handle the truth?!?! I have a feeling no matter what we do, we are screwed lol. |
