Trump on Obama's speech: 'Is that all there is?' By Eric Bradner, CNN Updated 10:05 PM ET, Sun December 6, 2015 President Obama: 'This was an act of terrorism' 02:15 Story highlights Donald Trump had little to say other than, "Is that all there is?" A statement put out by the Republican National Committee also panned Obama's remarks Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama's Oval Office address to the country Sunday did little to impress one of his loudest critics in the race to replace him. In a rare prime-time speech, Obama called the shootings in San Bernardino, California, an "act of terrorism." He prodded Congress to adopt new restrictions on assault weapons and ban people who are on no-fly lists from purchasing firearms. And he urged Americans against associating terrorism with all Muslims -- even as he said that extremism in some communities is "a real problem that Muslims must confront without excuse." GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump, who had promised to live-tweet the speech, came to the quick conclusion, "We need a new President - FAST!" The real estate mogul had little else to say other than, "Is that all there is?" More from CNN Clinton explains why she won't say 'radical Islam' What President Obama should say about terror Trump would consider gun ban for no-fly list… Donald Trump on San Bernardino response: "The notion that a radical jihadist who is on a no-fly list is going to walk into a local gun shop to purchase a gun is absurd," Rubio said. Republican Ben Carson called Obama's speech "strange." "President Obama's declaration tonight that his policies are working was strange," Carson said in a statement. "Strange that it took four days from the attack to respond and even more strange that somehow the attack on our soil is proof his policies are working. One must wonder who has contained who." Texas Sen. Ted Cruz responded to Obama by taking aim at the immigration system. "If I am elected President, I will direct the Department of Defense to destroy ISIS. And I will shut down the broken immigration system that is letting jihadists into our country," he said in a statement. "Nothing President Obama said tonight will assist in either case." Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called the struggle against ISIS "the war of our time." "We need to remove the self-imposed constraints President Obama has placed on our intelligence community and military, and we need to put in place an aggressive strategy to defeat ISIS and radical Islamic terrorism as I have proposed," he said. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul used his statement to criticize Obama's calls for gun control reforms and also took aim at the U.S. immigration system. "We should not double down on this failed and dangerous policy that the President called for tonight," he said in a statement. "We must arm our allies, the Kurds, and insist on Arab boots on the ground for our allies in the region." Ohio Gov. John Kasich, another 2016 contender, said Obama's strategy "is not enough." "Bolder action across the board is needed because our way of life is what's at stake," said Kasich in a statement. "Also, when terrorists threaten us, our response can't be to target our own constitutional rights. Our rights aren't the problem, our unwillingness to act to defeat extremists is the problem. We need to decisively and aggressively protect our nation and our ideals." Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus also blasted Obama's speech. "We will defeat ISIS but we cannot do so by continuing the current approach. The path laid out by President Obama and supported by Hillary Clinton has not worked, and ISIS has only gained in strength," Priebus said in a statement. "The attacks in San Bernardino should serve as a wake-up call for Obama and Clinton that the way to victory is not through the status quo but refocusing our efforts to defeat ISIS." Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley have yet to comment on the President's remarks. Like most Americans, we know Presidents are (supposed) to work for us.
Through the years I have felt a gambit of emotions over Presidents, from rage to pity. (As a reaction to what they have said, done, not said & done.) And I have certainly used a variety of adjectives, including those found in the Oxford dictionary. But Obama's speech last night was the FIRST time, I ever felt EMBARRASSED. And to think, 'The Atlantic ' (& others are praising him) Obama's Speech on ISIS - The Atlantic http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/12/obama-the-analyst/419049/ : Look at this sh@t. I found it interesting that the two things ISIS would really want Obama to do is allow in more trained fighters AKA refugees and make it more difficult for people to defend themselves.

'The nature of freedom’ -
Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., went to San Bernardino to record his response to President Obama’s remarks: “This is not about workplace violence. This is not about global warming or gun shows. This is not about income inequality. This is not about kids from broken homes, as tragic as that is. This is not about anything we have done wrong. This is about who we are. This is about the nature of freedom. ----------------------------- Sen. Ben Sasse responds from San Bernardino - Full statement http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x44EREtI7uY&feature=youtu.be/ |

I like how every time something even remotely like this happens the best idea anyone can come up with is to go after hunters and target shooters. it drives me crazy. After all these sportsmen aren't the ones who go wacko and mow down there entire drivers ed classes or whatever. what we need is nut control not gun control.

Obama Spends 27 Percent Of Speech Scolding Americans On Guns, Racism; 8 Percent On ISIS Threat STEVE GUEST Media Reporter 12:04 PM 12/07/2015 President Barack Obama spent nearly 20 percent of his Oval Office address on terrorism to urge Americans not to be racist, about twice as long as he took to describe the threat of ISIS. In the third Oval Office address of his presidency Sunday, Obama spoke for 1,910 words. He spent 372 words telling Americans not to discriminate against Muslims, compared to 160 words directly referencing the threat of ISIS. Obama used an additional 131 words, roughly 7 percent of the speech, to talk about the need for stricter gun laws. “Here’s what else we cannot do. We cannot turn against one another by letting this fight be defined as a war between America and Islam. and they account for a tiny fraction of more than a billion Muslims around the world — including millions of patriotic Muslim Americans who reject their hateful ideology. Moreover, the vast majority of terrorist victims around the world are Muslim. If we’re to succeed in defeating terrorism we must enlist Muslim communities as some of our strongest allies, rather than push them away through suspicion and hate. That does not mean denying the fact that an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities. This is a real problem that Muslims must confront, without excuse. Muslim leaders here and around the globe have to continue working with us to decisively and unequivocally reject the hateful ideology that groups like ISIL and al-Qaida promote; to speak out against not just acts of violence, but also those interpretations of Islam that are incompatible with the values of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and human dignity. But just as it is the responsibility of Muslims around the world to root out misguided ideas that lead to radicalization, it is the responsibility of all Americans — of every faith — to reject discrimination. It is our responsibility to reject religious tests on who we admit into this country. It’s our responsibility to reject proposals that Muslim Americans should somehow be treated differently. Because when we travel down that road, we lose. That kind of divisiveness, that betrayal of our values plays into the hands of groups like ISIL. Muslim Americans are our friends and our neighbors, our co-workers, our sports heroes — and, yes, they are our men and women in uniform who are willing to die in defense of our country. We have to remember that. My fellow Americans, I am confident we will succeed in this mission because we are on the right side of history. We were founded upon a belief in human dignity — that no matter who you are, or where you come from, or what you look like, or what religion you practice, you are equal in the eyes of God and equal in the eyes of the law.” While Obama discussed ISIS in abstract terms or reiterated strategy, he only used 160 words in reference to the threat ISIS posed. Those words encompassed 8 percent of the speech. (RELATED: Scarborough Rips Obama For Being ‘Hunkered Down In His Ideological Bunker’) Here are the following instances The Daily Caller deemed Obama was talking about the threat ISIS posed. (RELATED: MSNBC Terrorism Analyst Rips Obama’s ISIS Strategy: Not ‘An Incredibly Strong Prescription’) “And as groups like ISIL grew stronger, and as the Internet erases the distance between countries, we see growing efforts by terrorists to poison the minds of people like the Boston Marathon bombers and the San Bernardino killers.” “The threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it. We will destroy ISIL and any other organization that tries to harm us. Our success won’t depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values, or giving into fear. That’s what groups like ISIL are hoping for.” “…we are cooperating with Muslim-majority countries — and with our Muslim communities here at home — to counter the vicious ideology that ISIL promotes online.” “…to focus on the common goal of destroying ISIL — a group that threatens us all.” “…that individual is motivated by ISIL or some other hateful ideology.” “That, too, is what groups like ISIL want. ISIL does not speak for Islam. They are thugs and killers, part of a cult of death.” Also in Obama’s speech were 131 words where he pontificated about gun control and assault weapons. Roughly 7 percent of the words out of Obama’s mouth were relating to guns. (RELATED: Obama Calls Gun Control ‘A Matter Of National Security’ “To begin with, Congress should act to make sure no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terrorist suspect to buy a semi-automatic weapon? This is a matter of national security. We also need to make it harder for people to buy powerful assault weapons like the ones that were used in San Bernardino. I know there are some who reject any gun safety measures. But the fact is that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies — no matter how effective they are — cannot identify every would-be mass shooter, whether that individual is motivated by ISIL or some other hateful ideology. What we can do — and must do — is make it harder for them to kill.” In the introduction of his speech, Obama updated the nation specifically on the San Bernardino terrorist attack and used 200 words to do it. That occupied 10 percent of his word count. The majority of Obama’s speech — 1,011 words or about 53 percent — was dedicated to the history of the U.S. fight against terrorism, the current strategy to defeat ISIS, and steps that he wants Congress to take. The Man Who Can’t Stop Lying
Posted by Bob Owens on December 7, 2015 at 2:17 pm The Man Who Can’t Stop Lying As predicted, Barack Obama attempted to misdirect the American people during his prime-time Oval Office address last night. Trending on Bearing Arms » San Bernardino Shooting Gun Control Response The absentee President’s relatively brief addressed seemed more concerned with protecting his view of the nature of Islam than the lives of American citizens, and he quickly pivoted towards asserting that American gun owners were the real threat. Toward this end, Obama pushed his call to weaponize his enemies list. He wants to be able to arbitrarily put American citizens that he doesn’t like on one of several list, and then strip them of their constitutional rights by executive fiat. There is a word for that, spelled T-Y-R-A-N-N-Y. Obama spoke of using the “no fly” list as a jumping off point for stripping Americans of due process under the law, even though more than half of the names on that list were wrongly included. To date, precisely one person placed on the “no-fly” list has been responsible for the death of an American citizen, and that person is dearly departed Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy (who should have been in a “no drive” list instead). Of course, astute observers will note that while Obama talked about the horribly-flawed “no fly” list in his address, that isn’t the list that Democrat lawmakers have been pushing to use against American citizens in recent weeks. They have instead been attempting to use a much larger and even more arbitrary database numbering nearly one million souls, the “terror watch list.” This database has even lower standards, and you can be placed upon it for merely working with someone that said something controversial on Facebook, has a name similar to yours, who attempted to make a purchase with an expired credit card, or my own personal story, had the temerity to write an article that Obama like. Sadly, I’m hardly the only journalist to have ended up on a watch list that doubles as a corrupt President’s enemies list. There are nearly 300,000 people who have now ended up on this list for having the wrong opinions, or for no credible reason at all. Barack Obama and his enablers in the media are attempting to use this most recent terrorist attack as an excuse to name anyone a “terrorist” by using whatever definition they see fit at any given moment, and then strip American citizens who have committed no crimes of their rights without them having been suspected of committing a crime. It’s a deplorable and frankly un-American demand from a failed President, who is representing a failing and increasingly marginalized political party. Colonel Calls Obama “A Total P@ssy” On Live TV
first published on December 7, 2015 by Will Retired United States Army lieutenant colonel Ralph Peters called President Obama “a total p@ssy” during a live television interview regarding the President’s Oval Office address he gave to the American people last night on the topics of terrorism, Syria, and gun control. Peters was referring to Obama playing the “fear” card to the public and the President’s half-assed measures in his supposed attempt to defeat the Islamic State terror organization. While I am no fan of any Fox News associated channel, I do have to give Peters credit for calling it like it is. It actually makes me want to hear what retired General Stanley McChrystal would have to say about Obama’s current handling of the Middle Eastern debacle. McChrystal, an excellent warfighter and true American patriot, was forced to resign after calling out various White House officials in their ineptitude while he was ISAF Commander. Personally, I was more angered with the President’s call to strip people of their civil liberties without due process, although, I wasn’t surprised. He actually suggested that those on “No Fly Lists” be banned from buying or owning firearms. That might sound good to those that are eating the food-of-fear from his hand, but in reality, if implemented, it would be a wholly illegal and unjust act. It’s lists like these that allowed the KGB to send political dissidents to the Gulag for simply being opposed to current leadership. If I am a terrorist, prosecute me as such, and then strip away my freedoms. Barring people of their civil liberties because of a no fly list is like forcing someone to register as a sex offender for having a penis (a common tool of rape) and posting classless, sex-related content on their Facebook page. Are they a potential rapist? Maybe. Have you filed a case against them with substantial evidence for a conviction? No? Then go pound sand. Additionally, his reasoning for pushing this entirely un-American agenda is supposedly because of the Islamic terrorists that killed 14 people in San Bernardino. Those scumbags had someone else purchase their weapons and were obviously not on a no fly list, considering the dude brought his goat-smelling wife here from Saudi Arabia last year. In fact, it just raises more questions as to how well we can vet these refugees with background checks as they come in from a nation that collapsed into war over four years ago, especially since we’re actively trying to take down their government, rather than working with it. Where is he getting these personal records for the background checks? What President Obama is suggesting is that we destroy the Second Amendment (right to bear arms) by obliterating the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments (due process) so we can target those that may only be ‘guilty’ of using their First Amendment rights by using a secret list with no accountability or ability to ascertain to the reasoning for removing their liberties in the interest of not compromising national security. So while I agree with lieutenant colonel Ralph Peters’ angry and entertaining statement regarding the President’s handling of ISIS, I think we should be more focused on what this current leadership is willing to do to our nation. That’s what should be angering people. I don’t even understand how it is legally possible for the President Of The United States Of America to even get away with suggesting such a horrendous, illegal, and un-American goal. ISIS is scary. Now give me your rights. http://www.funker530.com/lieutenant-colonel-calls-obama-a-total-*****-on-live-tv/ * Replace the *****, ( p@ssy) * |

U.S. NEWS
Fox News pulls two personalities off air for profanity after Obama's TV address “I mean, this guy is such a total [expletive], it’s stunning," Fox contributor Lt. Col. Ralph Peters said of the president's speech Sunday night. By Doug G. Ware | Dec. 7, 2015 at 8:29 PM NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Fox News Channel temporarily removed two of its contributors from the airwaves after they leveled profane criticisms of President Barack Obama following his nationally televised address on terrorism Sunday night. The network on Monday made the decision to suspend GOP contributors Stacey Dash and Lt. Col. Ralph Peters for two weeks for using remarks it called "inappropriate" and "unacceptable." Peters and Dash are paid as regular contributors for Fox News, but neither is a full-time employee. Dash is a cultural analysis and commentary contributor, and Peters specializes in military and national security affairs. After the president's address Sunday, during which Obama discussed the fight against terrorism and the plight of Muslim Americans, Peters appeared on the Fox Business Channel and replied to a question about what he thought of the speech. "I mean, this guy is such a total [expletive], it's stunning," he said, after which anchor Stuart Varney said he could not use such language on live television. "I'm sorry," Peters replied. A while later, Dash echoed those sentiments during an appearance on the Fox News program Outnumbered. "I felt like he could give a [expletive], excuse me, like he could care less," she said. Fox News, which is often accused of favoring conservatives over liberals, acted quickly Monday to reprimand the two. "Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air," said Bill Shine, Fox senior executive vice president. "Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks." Following the announcement of her suspension, Dash was unapologetic on Twitter. "Consequences. Some of us have to pay them. Gladly," she tweeted.
