How far are you willing to go to meet someone? Where do you draw the line so to speak? How far are you willing to travel to meet someone you met online? I have been one that put no distance too far.. But I also know that isn't normal. I have traveled to the East coast, Canada, and several other states. Even did a Aruba mini vacation to do a meet and greet once years ago. I had already made the choice that if I found the one I would relocate. This was easy for me since my family is global already. My Career is pretty mobile, I can pretty much find work anywhere. Those things to me were the key issues when doing the distance thing. There was a time when I lived in Sitka I said nope you have to come to me. And I had a few fly in and do the meet and greet thing. Had a great vacation out of it. Also renewed an old relationship out of it. Thank goodness we are still friends after so odd 20 years. I personally wouldn't want to move out of the Western part of the world. but again that is a personal choice. Pancho and I live about 3200 miles apart as the crow flies.. And Yes we both know I will be the one to relocate. |

what's distance when you meet new friends and family.
All my children have nearly left home so that gives me freedom and with today's technology we have easy access to them. I will always make sure there is money in the savings in case I need to go home. I would rather stay with in the western countries. |

across the bar is sometimes to far... how about down the bar? then you can slide along it instead of tripping on that moving floor |

For me it must be a man in the uk.
I couldn't leave my family and friends behind. Im very close with my family. Plus im not interested in long distance relationships. |

I have traveled from Michigan to Florida before. Not willing to travel out of US except maybe Canada cause it's across the river.
Willing to travel to meet, but not move out of state at this time. |

My preference is half an hour drive. I want to be able to hang out with my guy more than 3 times a year.

I have had the two different countries relationship before. English/New Zealand.
It is hard work and not for the faint of heart. Especially because the time zones are different. |

I've been in a relationship with a woman for 4 years who lives about 50 miles from me. That is the absolute limit. If we lived any further apart seeing each other on a regular basis wouldn't be possible. Thus, a normal, healthy, and tangible relationship would not be possible./

There is no such thing as distance to me when it comes to true love. Those are just petty things to me

Well, I don't live too far from the city centre and it makes sense to meet up in town for the first date, unless they just want to come here. I'm certainly prepared to meet them off the bus.

there was a time when I thought the next town was too far. (given there were circumstances where I needed to be close to family).
there was a time when an hour and a half seemed doable. then I realized it would also include a climate change and learning to navigate weather conditions that aren't familiar to me. I currently live an hour away from the person I'm seeing. if things keep going well, I would be the one to relocate. he has a son, I don't have kids. it would make it easier for his son not to be uprooted. |

It seems as I get older the less I want to travel. I've done the long distance thing twice. And neither time did it turn out to well. The first one was a 250-mile round trip. I did all the driving. She never once offered to come to me. The last one, At the time I didn't know any better. She was in South Africa. I won't go into the whole mess here. We were kept apart by the powers that be.
After these two, I didn't want to do long distance anymore. It's all I can do to talk myself into going 25 miles to meet someone. Much less across the country. |
