I just got a new "used" car last week and just took it for a long drive this weekend. well it seemed to hesitate up the smallest of hills then went up a larger hill and it started to buck. then I noticed the check engine lite was on. also when I get to the speed of 45 or more and go to break I notice the car shakes. I have a 30 day warrenty and am bringing it in monday but would like to go there with half a clue so they dont bull sh*t me. if anyone has any idea what it might be please let me know. TY

Sounds like your brakes need work, and also your engine may have poor compression or another major problem. Are you getting a lot of smoke?

if its used, it sounds like you may have gotten a lemon and nothing you can do about that

a mechanic can plug in his code scanner and read the trouble codes to get to the problem. computer runs everything... car is in "limp home" mode.. cataytic converter could be clogged to... as for the shaking, sounds like a separate problem.

theres no smoke at all and it sounds fine just doesnt want to pick up on hill or small inclines. and it only bucked that 1 time.

Hello. it is proably a dirty fuel filter. it should be changed twice a year. the other is the front brake rotors are proably wharped.

if it feels like it is running out of gas, maybe a simple fuel filter change,if it feels like it is in the transmission, could be what they call torque converter shudder, but wouldee is right, take it somwhere have it plugged onto a scanner, it get the truth.

The engine prob could be alot of things, but, likely nothing serious. Could be as simple as a loose connector or bad sending unit/sensor. As long as the check engine light came on there will be a code put into the 'computers' memory. Usually easy to figure it out from there.
The brake problem is most likely a warped brake rotor or drum. When they warp they generally "shake/vibrate" at all speeds, but, something like a worn tie rod can amplify the feeling. Also, if it's coming from the front wheels, normally you will be able to feel it through the steering wheel. |

it only shakes when I stop from a fast speed not at all when I'm driving around town doing 30 mph. so would that still be the roders? I guess I should have taked it for a ride on the highway when I test drove it. it also needed wheel barings and they fixed that before I picked it was hard to tell if there was anyother problems
