don't know if this has made news in other countries but a DJ in England has upset quite a lot of people with these views!
................................................................... "DJ Alex Dyke said breastfeeding was "unnatural" and "has to be stopped" in public during his phone-in show on BBC Radio Solent on Wednesday. He had asked callers to ring in about the "taboo subject" of breastfeeding in public during the programme, which is broadcast to parts of Hampshire and Dorset. During the phone-in, Dyke said: "Couldn't mums just stay at home and do it? I'm not offended by it, I'm just made to feel uncomfortable about it. "You wouldn't get 'yummy mummies'... breastfeeding in public. Those kind of women wouldn't do it because they're very image-conscious and they know it's not a great look." "I blame the Earth mothers, you know the ones I mean, the ones with the moustaches, the ones who work in libraries, the ones who wear hessian, the ones they're always on Radio 4 on Women's Hour, they are always pushing the boundaries and making us feel uncomfortable." "Breastfeeding is unnatural. It's the kind of thing that should be done in a quiet, private nursery." "It was OK in the Stone Age when we knew no better, when people didn't have their own teeth... but now I just think a public area is not the place for it and fellas don't like it." ............................................................ |

breastfeeding is "unnatural"
I can understand the guys view. I mean if it was so great and perfectly normal, why ever stop breastfeeding? Why ween a kid off breast milk at all? Breasts will produce milk as long as something is feeding. Decades even. Just show up at their high school prom and have a "special dance with mom." The things you teach children to stop doing should not be done in public view. |

I can understand too where op is coming from
Wow for me there is an age limit The women I see doing it in public have a blanket over their shoulders covering while babies feed under it For the older dudes Well that is definitely bedroom material. |

As for being unnatural, what a stupid thing for this DJ to say. |

Here in the US, as soon as the job title "DJ" is linked to "said [something a forum troll would say to get people riled up], I figure the story's already told.
My response is "mm-hmmm, yeah. Any chance he mentioned the traffic where I'm headed while he was wasting your time on that?" |

wonder how that Fool thinks Mammals have ever evolved and climbed on top of the Food-chain? I know, right? Any biologist will tell you - breast feeding is one of the most natural things humans do. |

If a woman decides to breast feed in public, so be it. Doesn't bother me one bit. After all, they baby has to eat.
If it bothers someone, simply not looking will solve the problem. |

I breastfed all my children no matter where I was because he/she was hungry. I didn't think anything of it. What's the big deal?
Breastmilk all around. |

Well I am one that breast fed all my children and somehow I was the one not comfortable with whipping it out on main street to feed my child..There are ways to have the child's needs met and still have a bit of modesty going on here.
In the same manner my kids all wore diapers and I saw no need to plop my child on a public table to change their poopy diaper either..And I sure in the hell wasn't going to let them sit in it.. |
