Anyone else had this?

I was in contact with someone on this site. I'd only exchange like 2 or 3 messages so I wasn't exactly getting my hopes but when I went to reply to message she had sent only a few hours ago, she had deactivated her account? Has this happened to anyone else. I'm not exactly bothered, I just thought it was weird.

i think it's a glitch in the system,
as i've found their profile is reactivated
within hours or the next day,,,

Anyone else had this? when I went to reply ...she had deactivated her account?

That's common on dating sites for all sorts of reasons.

- Their profile in some way violates TOS and the system caught up to them.

- They're really a dude pretending to be a chick for some kind of social experiment or just for fun.

- They were just bored or lonely, it takes a couple minutes to set up a profile, and then they can just chat during the day, and when done they deactivate and disappear without having annoying emails of "what's going on? What'd I do? You fat ugly a-hole player! Can you give me pointers on what I should do differently? Paweeze tawk tu me, Imma sad and wonewy" which are all the same email, and reactivate later.

- They were talking to multiple people at the same time, set up a meeting/date with the person they want, or most bold, or whatever, so deactivate their profile.

- They're married, or in a relationship with someone they met on the site, they can only come on and look when their partner is busy or at work, and they deactivate when done or their partner can check, in order to hide their activity.

- They are extremely insecure and scared of dating, meeting strangers, they were attracted to online dating because they can feel safe while interacting.
While talking to you, they get "scared" and run away.

- They gave the website a shot, nothing really great motivated them, so they just leave, you just happened to be the last person they spoke with before the last 9 months of disappointments catch up.

A lot of people come online looking for what are ultimately chat rooms.
Like the forums.
You've read responses like "I like pie! I like turtles!"
Some people just want immediate attention.

"A few hours ago" may have been too long for her. She might have been looking for instant email responses.
She might have deactivated in order to show you that she was mad at you and didn't want to talk to you anymore because you were on here playing games with her by not responding when she wanted you to.

I just thought it was weird.

It's common.

OP it could be the glitch or it could be she really did deactivate.

The thing is I would wait a few and see if she comes back and if she doesn't then she really did deactivate and well she had her reasons and she isn't the one for you..
