Just watched the Fifa soccer game between Germany & France and I can surely say here that both teams played very well indeed today, even though only one team could go on to the finals and that was Germany. It was due to the over-time penalty kicks. But,I would like to say here and I'm sure there will be some French members on here and I will say here that your female team played very well against Germany and I think that, that says something Indeed ! So,to all Frenchies out there,do show appreciation towards your team when they arrive home because they do deserve that

That was one of the best - ALL TIME BEST played soccer match I've ever seen!
Germany advanced to the 2015 Women's World Cup semifinals Friday by edging France in penalty kicks (5-4) after the match remained tied 1-1 through 120 minutes. The win sends the Nationalelf on to face the winner of the match between the United States and China later on Friday. The Germans have been among the most impressive squads throughout the tournament and are now just two wins from the title *********edited for space >>> With no heroes in extra time, the match moved to penalty kicks. The first nine shooters connected from the spot. Then, as Claire Lavogez tried to send the shootout to extra kickers, Angerer came up with the winning stop to put Germany through to the next round. It was a thrilling conclusion to an outstanding match. If the United States advances from the day's second quarterfinal, it would set up a meeting between the two teams ranked 1-2 in the world. But instead of playing for the trophy, they would just be battling for a chance to play in the final. The extra 30 minutes isn't ideal for Germany. The resulting fatigue could very well become a factor during the remaining rounds. Of course, the players will gladly take that over heading home early. France pushed Germany to the limit Friday, but the world's top-ranked team lives to fight another day. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2507866-germany-vs-france-score-twitter-reaction-from-2015-womens-soccer-world-cup |

Women's football another oxymoron Well that's really sad...those hard working - extremely fit women excel at soccer and you make fun! Isn't that just RUDE? No its not rude its my opinion. They might be "fit" but its rubbish to watch. perhaps the Americans are riveted because their women are still in it. The media in England are going overboard with it cos our women are still in it most true football fans don't give a toss about it! , Yes our mens' football is poor at the moment but thats the greedy premier leagues fault accepting all that money from Sky and young English players don't get a chance because of all the expensive foreign players/mercenaries who come over for the pay check. I thank you! |

Tonight in Montreal the #2 ranked team, the USA women's soccer team plays the ladies from Germany, the #1 ranked team in the world according to FIFA, to see who gets a chance to play for the 2015 World Cup championship against either England or Japan on Sunday.
Looks like the 'ODD MAKERS' have picked Japan over England in this up coming match... Prediction: Japan 2-1 England Japan are a class above the Canadians, though. The reigning champions have meandered through this competition with a quiet authority, and up to this point, they’ve looked in complete control in all of their matches.
It was the same against Australia in the quarterfinals. Although the determined Aussie defending shut down Japan’s intricate players for long spells, there was a sense of inevitability about Mana Iwabuchi's winning goal. Nonetheless, as noted here by Paul Carr of ESPN, Japan do seem to have some issues killing teams off completely. |

DonnyRover I was watching an ESPN special on Abby Wambach.....a U.S. team member, and while she was playing for The University of Florida, an accidental head butt opened up her head. They showed footage of the doc STAPLING her up on the sidelines. She never flinched. They now show that footage to inspire the UF American style football team.
Hope she doesnt see your comments, she can kick your azz Oh, and..... USA USA USA USA USA!!!!!! |

Slight correction...she was playing for the U.S. when her head was split open.....

Ty for that snippet about Abby; I'd heard that that had happened but never found the article to read about it!
These young women play with 100% ability and heart and get paid so very little for their hard work and fortitude! Not that I want all pro-sports to be raised any higher - it's getting to a point that it's not affordable to take our children to see such greatness in action - regardless of the sport! |

Admittedly, Im not the biggest soccer fan.....but I do enjoy The World Cup....both men and women. And someone who gets their head stapled up and THEN goes BACK in gets my respect.
that had happened but never found the article to read about it! Abby is tough. That same ESPN special told another story where she had broke her nose and had been fitted with one of those face shields. The coach saw her in the next match playing without it. He asked a trainer about it and was informed that Abby conveniently forgot to take it out of her locker |
