I bought a heart sucker for my best friend yesterday, even though he lives miles away. Hearing his laughter warm on the phone helped me not to feel so alone
I did not know it was some fancy best friend day
but my heart has been with him since we went away
my ex promised a love that was not true
and I was sad thinking no one will love me
then you called
and said call me
a lifeline of thoughts and being and meaning
now love and hope lives in my heart
and I know I can love again
and hope you will play a part

and for helping my life to have a new beginning
for your warmth, your hugs when I was down
for holding my hand when I cried and saying it is ok
when my life fell apart all around me
like an old building being torn down
it all needed to happen
