So far the advice the advice I have gotten is to play motivation music. One lady said Elvis Costello song Pump It Up works for her. I have noticed that opening up the windows helps and getting rid of excess furniture works, too. I went and got some good cleaning supplies. One lady told me not to play mellow music while cleaning.

No, never mellow music! Always something you can dance to. I always open my windows too, regardless of the weather, it helps air it out. And since I hate cleaning with a passion, I try to keep things picked up and put away where they belong, less to do when I do have to clean.

My little sister said what helped her is to keep baskets for clothes and a lot of trash cans. I have found that my main place to keep clean is right by the computer so I am going to keep a trash can nearby it.

I have found that when I got rid of two chairs that I removed two catchall places. There seems to be a relationship between excess furniture and catchall places. It is like if the catchall place isn't there then one has to find a place to put the thing. One can decide at that time if it is trash. I am finding that just too much stuff; What to do with the thing and if I really need it or not is the real problem.

I have noticed in the areas that I have cleaned that it looks less depressing. It encourages me to clean more. Hmm, fascinating.

Nope ....no advice here!! By the time Friday rolls around....my house is TRASHED! Can't wait for my kids to get old enough to help out more....

I have a real difficult time just cleaning up after myself. It must be a harder problem when there are more people to clean up after. Just an observation.

My brother plays music, when working at home. But only some times does he pump up the music. However, the music does have to be upbeat, not down beat. Down beat music is for when on the computer. I suggest the Mission Impossible themes.
