I have never been there; but, plan to go and check out American/British ex-pat enclaves this year. With a very low cost of living and the lower EURO, it seems like a great place to retire.
Anyone have experience with living or retiring there? I would especially like to find the towns/suburbs where there are a lot of ex-pats. |

I've been a few times, but not to live there.
Lisbon is ok for a visit. I liked Esterel, it's nice and quiet, it's where they used to have the grand prix. The Azores are beautiful, little islands off the coast, they are Portuguese although I can't remember seeing many ex pats there. Portuguese people are friendly so you won't have many problems, good luck with it all. |
