If you want success in your life look around and find happy peaceful people and take your cues from how they live. Ignore the ones who tell you don't do this, don't want that, this is the magic answer. I will help you. There are few magic answers but having a plan and working the plan steady and patiently you can usually get what you consider success. Different people define it differently.

Knowing what you know at this moment, what's the best piece of wisdom you can muster?
Save for retirement. I agree with this |

Be born to at least one decent parent.

Be born to at least one decent parent. how does that happen? kids are born to people who boinked their brains out. better advice would be to be selective about who you boink. |

Knowing what you know at this moment, what's the best piece of wisdom you can muster? If someone yells at you, "Don't push that button!" then do as you are told. |

I mean wisdom only goes so far in controlling destiny. one can't control destiny. one can control choice. meeting someone might be destiny. putting out is a choice. staying is a choice. leaving is a choice. blaming others is a choice |

If I had to narrow it down to ONE thing, it would be to ALWAYS LIVE MINDFULLY. That means that you need to watch out for, and carefully examine, and take personal responsibility for any and all assumptions, guesses, and "rules" which you go with. I disagree. Some of your suggestions are harmful. And "rules".. what if they're no such thing? I think you must have entirely misunderstood what I said. The point is to have your own understanding of how to conduct your life, to be aware of whatever rules YOU have made or chosen from others, and to take active responsibility for all of your choices. Even when "rules" are made by others, take responsibility for choosing to follow them. If you decide not to accept or formulate any rules, then take responsibility for that, and for whatever consequences there are for you from that choice as well. No, absolutely no misunderstanding here. How can I, (also the implied you in this instance) follow a set of rules that isn't there? Same train of thought for your consequences. Don't have to worry about consequences when 'this' set of rules doesn't exist. |

Knowing what you know at this moment, what's the best piece of wisdom you can muster? Live your life as you see fit, for although others will pretend to tell you how, they won't be there to help you out of the messes you'll fall into and you're ultimately responsible for your own actions. |
