Still in honor of the Trust thread:)

Slow people like me,
when they get around to figuring out what everyone is talking about.. can only entreat: Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in. ― Isaac Asimov can only say: If others tell us something we make assumptions, and if they don't tell us something we make assumptions to fulfill our need to know and to replace the need to communicate. Even if we hear something and we don't understand we make assumptions about what it means and then believe the assumptions. We make all sorts of assumptions because we don't have the courage to ask questions. ― Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom |

Find out for yourself. ![]() It's kind of like a double edged blade when you make assumptions, because it can reveal more about you than you care to admit and less about the person. Then again making assumptions is important for survival I guess. That would eventually lead to assuming things based on evidence. Having principles. I really don't know which is more correct, but I sometimes think it's interesting to assume what a person wouldn't do than what a person would do. |

Some thing I have learned is, ONLY make assumptions of someone you know yourself and not by what other people tell you. Find out for yourself. ![]() I'm grateful you provided me a platform for this. ONLY MAKE ASSUMPTIONS OF SOMEONE YOU KNOW YOURSELF AND NOT BY WHAT OTHER PEOPLE TELL YOU.FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF. ^^I just did this Ms. Debbie. After the flower thread by Pansytilly, the roll call, and the flowers associated with it, I want to figure out what she is trying to convey. I don't like what I figured out, what I found out, what everyone is talking about..THE MAGNITUDE OF THE IMPLICATION: Makes me rethink, if finding one good man in mingle is worth all this trouble. ASSUMPTIONS vs.TRUTH DECENCY/ACCOUNTABILITY VS. SPECULATION Thus, my quote of the day is: The TRUTH is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. - Winston Churchill |
