"Tribute to Mother": [by 'Frances Johansan']
You painted no Madonnas on chapel walls in Rome But with a touch divine you lived one in your home You wrote no lofty poems that critics counted art But with a nobler vision you lived them in your heart You carved no shapeless marble into some high soul design But with a finer sculpture you shaped this soul of mine You built no great cathedrals that centuries applaud But with a grace exquisite your life's a Cathedral God Had I the gift of Raphael or that of Michelangelo Oh, what a rare Madonna my mother's life would show! "Wonderful Mother" [by 'Pat O'Reilly'] God made a wonderful mother, A mother who never grows old; He made her smile of the sunshine, And He moulded her heart of pure gold; In her eyes He placed bright shining stars, In her cheeks fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother, And He gave that dear mother to me! PS: To all the wonderful 'Mothers' who have been an 'embodiment' of 'Love' 'Care' and 'Sacrifice' throughout all ages....! |

thanks for all the great wishes. I really enjoyed mother's day AND yes, I did turn off the beaters (but I kept spoon for myself...heh heh)

Haha my sister gave a card with this on it to my Mum. We always got to lick either beaters or bowl or scraper when we were kids |

When my world falls down around me,
And the ground is sinking sand; When peace can't be found on this earth, I reach out for your hand. When your hand wraps 'round my own, A strength pours from your soul; It brings to me a quiet calm, Till once again I'm whole. A peace beyond all reason, A rest there in your touch; Something in your quiet words, My heart yearns for so much. If I but rest my worries, Upon your shoulder there; Strength that pours forth from your soul, Will wash away each care. Like a cool sweet taste of water, For a tired thirsty man; My heart finds peace, my soul is calm, When I reach out for your hand! [Allison Chambers Coxsey] |
