Considering whites riot for winning a soccer game or football game...and blacks riot for feeling disadvantaged...I'd give the better to the those who riot for a cause and not a celebration. That said. I do not see rioting as a lucrative form of expression of anger. But who expresses their anger well?

Sending all those with a "cause" to your neighborhood.
Please have all your electronics & flammable items at your door for the"disadvantaged". And please remain in your house for at least one week, especially during your curfew & obey the 5,000-10,000 National Guard. And ignore the choppers. * ear plugs are recommended, if you dare to sleep*

Welcome to Reality Metropolitan Life. We hope you enjoy your stay & are fully insured & can afford another tax hike to pay for the damages of & caused by the "disadvantaged"

 SCORE !

Something to recognize, if you actually want to understand all this (as opposed to choosing which self-righteous posturing to indulge in), is that riots and similar large disturbances such as this are almost NEVER the simple result of a single mind-set, and a single kind of participant.

Such messes are the result of a lot of varied actors, making a lot of individual choices. Such messes erupt for more than a single reason, and they happen because of what each and every person does, at each critical moment.

On one level, it's the same as when a single friend of yours, gets angry and hits you. That doesn't happen out of nowhere. A normal, unstressed, balanced person of any kind, doesn't suddenly and randomly lash out. A series of things needs to happen, for an otherwise rational and peaceful person to turn violent.

When multiple people, especially collections of relative strangers is involved, more complications play a part. One that SHOULD be the most obvious, is that people who are constantly waiting for the opportunity to commit a crime, will gravitate to such situations, in order to take advantage of the blinding emotions and confusion. More burglaries and public theft occurs on days when masses of people are thronging in the streets, for the same reason. Even if it's because of a national holiday, and everyone who IS out, is there having fun.

And if you live in a culture where lashing out violently is considered acceptable, it is more likely to be true that things LIKE riots will occur. More murders and assaults happen in areas where everyone is encouraged to respond to emotional upset with violence.
