Topic: Shot in the head NYPD officer 'fighting for his life' | |
---|---|
I am not a fan of stop and frisk.
However, since the practice has almost ended entirely there is an increase in the number of shootings in NYC. Who is to say that this guy would be carrying that weapon if the practice was still in place as it was a few years ago. I don't live in NYC and they voted in a communist as mayor. You reap what you sow. |

thats why i think NY should stop the whole "stop and frink" stuff. they stopped the guy because they saw him adjusting his waist band or something like that. since when does someone adjusting their waist band justify a police officer to stop and question someone? note: I AM NOT ADVOCATING THAT THIS COP WAS BAD AND AM NOT BASHING THIS COP. that being said if the NY police didnt constantly stop people for very petty reasons, this cop would still be alive. i know the guy had an illegal gun and was carrying it illegally so no i am not advocating that this guy wasnt a scumbag. but i do feel NY abuses the whole stop and frisk thing just a bit. if they didnt stop him we would still have one more scumbag on the street with an illegal gun, but we would also have one more officer that wouldnt have died..... i know its already coming so let the tomato86 bashing begin. When you leave your house in the morning with your car keys it is for what reason?.. to carry them around or you plan to use your car? This guy left his house in the morning with a illegal gun. For what reason? So had they not stopped him.. yes, a cop would still be alive.. but most likely someone else would not or the gun would have been used during a crime.. If that " someone else would not be alive" person was one of your loved ones, would you still feel the same, Tomato? Or would you had wished that someone took that gun from his guy before he had the chance to kill. NYC is not some small PA. town Tomato, where maybe walking around with a gun strapped to you or a rifle in your pick up truck is normal When you slip a gun in your waistband and walk out of the door in NYC, chances are you plan to use bad logic your using... i carry a gun all the time, and never once used it... so what am i planning here? it's better to have a gun and never use it than to not have one and need it... all it would take is one time exactly moe, neither of them make any sense. just cause hes a thug or lives in new york that means hes definitely going to commit a crime if hes carrying a gun with him. makes no sense at all whatsoever. what does it being in new york have to do with anything? they act like just because its new york that he was definitely going to commit a crime. no logic. the Democratic way, keep saying senseless things so other democrats believe it... |

last i heard they still do stop and frisk on regular occasion, i could be wrong but i thought they still did it because they feel its not unconstitutional to stop random people and search them like we live in nazi germany. ill have to look it up but i thought they still did it regularly. either way tho IMO someone adjusting their waist band is not a justifiable reason to stop someone walking down the street.
just looked it up seems they still do it but have cut down by 99% of the people they stop. people are always going to kill people, thats never going to change, should we all give up our rights because some people die? IMO hell no. if your afraid of getting killed, by yourself a weapon, train yourself with that weapon and use that weapon if you have to, simple as that. |

millions of gun lovers would disagree who say guns are a necessity for protection,, not planning to use, but having it in case its needed yes,, your right. Just like this guy needed it for. right . To protect him from being arrested for carrying a ILLEGAL weapon And BYW I have lived there my whole life. And witnessed my share of people being arrested.. never once did I see a cop draw his gun for a routine arrest. They don't jump out of the car guns draws. Did these cops do that? |

When you slip a gun in your waistband and walk out of the door in NYC, chances are you plan to use
on what basis do you make that assumption? how is that any different from someone in PA putting a gun in their waistband and walking outside? just because its NYC means he was definitely going to commit a crime with it? im not understanding your logic. When you slip a ILLEGAL gun under your belt and head out the door.. you are looking for trouble. Tomato. He was afraid that "someone" was after him?... so he shot a cop.. to death. Well, you continue you crusade of injustice.. or better yet, stop bitching about it and start doing something about it.. run for office.. we need a senator Tomato |

I have friends who are cops in NYC. Out of all of them only one has ever pulled his gun. They have been cops for 15 or more years. There are rules of when you can take that gun out. It is not Hollywood, they do not jump out of the car.. guns draws. yes, legal guns... was this guy carrying a legal gun?? |

and i agree with msharmony that not all cops follow SOP, maybe your buddies do but theres over 30,000 cops in new york and im sure they dont all follow stand operating procedure. and as far as hollywood goes, ive seen videos of real cops that would make hollywood jealous. like the cops that emptied i believe 120+ rounds into a car after a chase, when the 2 people in the car werent even armed. cop said he thought he saw a weapon, so they dumped 120+ rounds into the car killing both people inside. point is you cant trust all cops to always follow SOP, as alot of them dont they shoot first and ask questions never.

drunk drivers kill people, probably more people than guns do. do we outlaw cars? no. guns arent the problem. its people who dont have basic morals and respect for other peoples lives. and no matter what theres always going to be people like that, theres never going to be a perfect society. your best bet is to get your own gun, train yourself with that gun, and if need ever be, use that gun. gun control is about as unconstitutional as your going to get. every year they make more and more laws with the hope that in the future there will be so many laws that people will be constantly breaking them and giving government an excuse to take away their 2nd amendment. so they can say "we didnt take your guns, you forfeited your right to own guns when you commited that crime". its all BS. like my buddy who got a misdemeanor for DUI and hes banned from EVER owning a gun the rest of his life. he didnt kill anyone, he didnt hurt anyone, he didnt damage no property. they took his drivers license for 2 years and gave it back but told him he can never own a firearm. so they feel hes learned his lesson enough to give him his drivers license back but wont let him own a gun, when in reality he never got in trouble for a gun he got in trouble for DRUNK DRIVING. see how hypocritical that is?
