WHAT OBAMAS REFUSAL TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE TELLS US ABOUT THE U.S. AND THE REST OF THE WORLD

Today, April 24, 2015, is the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide. During the next several years, about one and a half million Armenians were murdered by the Ottoman Empire: shot, worked to death, or marched into the Syrian desert to starve or die of thirst. An American official who was an eyewitness wrote home, The whole country [is] one vast charnel house, or, more correctly speaking, slaughterhouse.

During Barack Obamas 2008 campaign, he explicitly promised that as President I will recognize the Armenian Genocide. Samantha Power, author of A Problem From Hell: America and the Age of Genocide and now Obamas ambassador to the U.N., recorded a video urging Armenian Americans to support him because he would acknowledge the genocide: I know [Obama] very well and hes a person of incredible integrity. Hes a true friend of the Armenian people, an acknowledger of the history hes a person who can actually be trusted.

Obamas commitment was quietly removed from his website sometime after December 2010, and this Armenian Remembrance Day, he broke his promise for the seventh year in a row.

And Obamas gone far beyond acts of omission. When the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed a resolution recognizing the genocide, Hillary Clinton, then secretary of state, said, The Obama administration strongly opposes [this] and will work very hard to make sure it does not go to the House floor. She and Obama were with Nancy Pelosis assistance successful.

Makes one wonder who's side Obama is on.
The world is on the brink of a Christian genocide as well, yet our leader does not mention it nor does the liberal news. Most Americans don't know about this or even care.
What is the saying? "Those who don't know history will repeat it"frown

Obonzo's transparent administration.

Obonzo isn't a man of honour.
And, I find it somewhat amusing,
that anyone could use the word
"integrity", in the same sentence as
Obonzo's name... As a descriptive.

The Armenian genocide should be
acknowledged and recognised.

Obonzo, simply lacks the testicular
fortitude, and the integrity, to do so.

amen. obombya is a liar pure and simple, i could probably fit all his truths on a sticky note, while i would need a stack of notebooks to name all his lies. if by transparent he means secretive then yes hes very transparent.

You angry anti-Obama types aren't doing your homework.

I don't like Obama either, in general, but the idea that he decided to dump the Armenian support for personal reasons, or just because he likes to lie, shows only mindlessness on the part of his critics.

You have to know world history to understand what's actually going on with this, and you need to have ACTUALLY been paying attention to what's been happening in the M.E. for the last fifty years.

Since you obviously haven't, I suggest that you start reading, and start thinking.

This isn't JUST about recognizing Armenian suffering. A whole host of considerations are involved, which relate to how Russia under Putin is behaving, on ISIS, on Iran, on Israel, and more.

Notice how the Republican Party wogs aren't lining up to demand that we officially recognize the genocide? That's because THEY are actually thinking, too.

Why don't you go into depth on your superior knowledge of the middle east...

This article was posted on Glenn Greenwalds site. So, maybe you should take your own advice and do a little research before you post something else this stupid.
