Have ya'll heard of adults using coloring as a form of stress relief?
(sorry to those of you ((you and I KNOW who you are )) who thought this was about something more)
I saw something on fb today about it and an author by the name of Johanna Basford who has a coloring book titled Secret Garden. I WILL be perusing my local bookstore this weekend to find it (along with my other Stephen King novels I still need )
If any of you have any suggestions on adult coloring books, please share?

Along the same lines as adult coloring books, I ran across this a few weeks ago.....

"" The Brooklyn-based Preschool Mastermind , as
it's called, is a preschool -type experience for
adults. No, really. And according to its
founder, there's show-and-tell, arts-and-crafts
such as finger paint, games (think musical
chairs) and even naps.
"I realized all the implications of what we
learn in preschool," said founder Michelle
Joni, who said she went to school for
childhood education and always wanted to be
a preschool teacher. "People come here and
get in touch with their inner child. It's
magical."
The class runs through March and meets
weekly. Joni was getting ready for tonight's
class when we spoke. She facilitates the class
with two assistants. There are six students in
the class, each hoping to get something
different out of the experience.
"One person's here because they want to learn
not to be so serious," she said. "Another's
here to learn to be more confident." But some
are there just to have fun.
Adult preschool -- not unlike New York City's
preschool's for children, doesn't come cheap.
Payment for the class is on a sliding scale
ranging from $333 to $999. Joni said that
"preschool is all about choice. I want them
[the students] to feel good about the choice
they're making."
Joni said that while the planned activities are
fun, it's often the spontaneous moments that
resonate with the students. "It's the things
you don't plan for, the sharing between friends
and learning from and working off each other."

I loved coloring as a little girl
used to spend hours doing it and then carefully cut the pages out and hang them on my walls of pretty butterflies and flowers
I loved that feeling of opening up big box of crayolas
you know the one with the sharpener built in that you dare not use

when my boys were growing up I was like
" ahh come on don't ya want to sit down and color with mommy??please?"

Did someone never learn how to get along with other children?

TMommy...LOL, I have always used my crayons even as an adult. It has always been a stress reliever for me and now to find out that the peeps who have made fun of me in the past about it are accepting it simply because it's a news story.
Again, I am just now learning about "adult" coloring books, but have gone through my share of Disney Princess children's coloring books.

Mel... I love to colour, I still use my coloured pencils and such a great way to mellow.

I want one!

When I draw I sometimes use crayons for coloring and shading.

We're not the only adults who like to color with crayons...

I have always enjoyed using crayons instead of colored pencils. Pencils just don't have the right feel for me.
