Because the approval rate for the government is pretty much non existent and they have to use something to try and pretend they are doing something, hope and changing to make it alllll better. When people are happy and don't care, the scandals can be swept under the rug, people can be shown something bright and shiny to draw their attention away from the scandal. When the people aren't happy, sacrificial scapegoats for false progress need to be found. That's my opinion at least. |
