false...
an exam is a set lesson you can prepare for... you know you're gonna take an exam...and you can pass by copying the right answers and by cheating... pass, but not learn... nothing can really prepare you for the curveballs life throws... some can succeed by emulating others... life is a never ending lesson, not just an exam... the only time you fail in life, is when you give up on it... |

this brings to mind medical exams that involve scopes and body cavities. the most difficult being not for oneself but watching the difficulties of a loved one and not being able to do anything |

Emulating folks works out ok - as long as what you're copying from others is positive, of course. It's the bedrock of mentoring. Keeps ya from having to reinvent the wheel all of the time.

Life is the most difficult exam, you should try A level maths. As for life, I never try to copy anyone, although as I've got a little older I do listen to advice from wiser people whereas a few years ago I wouldn't listen to anyone. There are a few wise people on Mingle, who I've learned a lot from, mostly the fact that I'm not always right. |
