I find that those who are not genuinely looking for a relationship, in other words "playing games", will make every excuse to hide themselves. I have had message conversations with a number of women who have all the excuses to avoid having a video chat such as, "My laptop does not have a cam". Then when I ask for an audio chat, the excuse is their mic doesn't work. It is quite easy to save pictures from the Internet and then claim to be that person. As for those who claim to be from New York, New York, it has become a red flag. It is truly disappointing to talk with someone who finally reveals where she really is located. The worst offenders are those who claim to be from a location they have listed but never update their information.
If you are someone who isn't honest about something simple like your location, you are simply a liar and I would never trust you with anything important, especially my life. You deserve to be shunned and alone so you don't disappoint or even destroy someone's expectations. |

I totally agree with you mate.. they soon show themselves for what they are. The trouble is they catch so many good honest people in their scams, who lose a lot of money and many don't get it until their bank account is nearly empty. You would think the penny would drop much sooner but it doesn't.
This is the bad side of the Internet. Laurie |

Usually the grammar is horrible. That should be your first red flag. For example, a few hours ago, I received message from someone that was something like this:
Am Susan from USA. You? That may not be the name she used or the exact wording, but that's a sign of a Nigerian scam. Am? No. I am or my name is. And most people won't give a name right away. From USA? That narrows it down. Especially since she had Texas listed as her location. Every American knows that a Texan will tell you they are from Texas. Every American will tell you which state we are from because Iowa is nothing like Idaho. California is nothing like Louisiana. Florida is nothing like Ohio. Just be alert. |
