Is this real? Because I've never met anyone who I first thought of as "naturally thin" who wasn't doing something, either consciously or unconsciously, to keep from gaining weight upon adolescence to adulthood. Is it true that a woman (who obviously have different systems than a man does) can be naturally skinny? I read a few articles on this and polled how people who claimed they were really lived their lives to other people who struggle to keep weight off. I feel like if you're doing something in order to maintain or keep it off by being active then I don't believe there is such thing as naturally thin. It takes work, whether you're aware of it or not. Also, in this argument, food control and big to smaller portions as well as how much activity a person really does comes into the mix.

My sister is naturally thin. Makes me sick. Lol. She don't exercise regularly or at all that i know of. She eats like a teenage boy sometimes. Never gains an ounce.

The way personal trainers work the plan out with their clients who want to just loose weight is: calories in and calories with an extra push all out. Whatever you normally work out, push yourself that extra bit more. There is also such a thing called: eating for maintenance instead of eating to eat. Most "naturally thin" people eat to regulate. I don't know if everyone has that build into them, it could be genetics working against them.

I think you mean kilos to pounds, that's 97lbs for Americans. How much do you move around during the day? Do you eat healthy? Watch your calories or get full faster?

I think it's a genetics and a self control thing. Personally I want to believe that's true, people are just naturally gifted but science doesn't lie often.

I work a lot in Asia, mostly China and the vast majority of the people are naturally thin. Very healthy.. but thin. I think a lot has to do with culture.. what they eat, how they live their life, ect.
They tend to think a lot more about the food they are putting in their bodies then we( westerners) seem to. And for the most part they know the benefits of each food they consume

It's in the genes and hormones........ all in the genes!

I was really thin during my younger days and could eat a man's portion. But I was so active then and so all that food consumed metabolized. Having kids will affect your hormonal levels and play havoc with your metabolism rate. Now I have to watch my diet.... even though I am still active.

2 of my sisters though still eat like men, don't exercise much but are still slim. Same family....different genes!

I've never really understood this thing about dieting etc.
For health reasons yes.
But to look good no, then again I'm a guy so I wouldn't pretend to understand a woman's outlook on it.
What I can say is that personally I prefer the cuddly variety.
Speaking to a lot of guys I work with, they do too.
Some of these models look like stick insects and it's not my cup of tea.

Hmmmmmm......... no more diet!!!!!!!! Yay yay!!!
Actually I have been told that too! bigsmile

Actually as we age, we do need to watch our diet for health reasons more than for beauty's sake. It will be less stress on our joints if we reduce our weight. And our general health does benefit as we will also be watching the kind of food we consume, and go more for greens and fibre rich food, and avoid all those fat cholesterol laden food.
