and if being alone.. and living with your aches and pains..
was not bad enough..
.. the financial reality..
. the cold hard facts..
. now.. you are surviving on one income... wait to you have no income..
.... myself I've always put money away..
.... but if you live long enough even that is not enough.....

.. I would love to slap the person that called it your golden years....lol

I Highly Doubt You Will Be Alone

Easy solution Phd just move down here to the beach where it never snows but then again he would probably cut the grass 3 times a week.laugh laugh Hey in all seriousness maybe the guy really is happy and he is outdoors getting some exercise to get the blood pumping , I mean its better then being all locked up inside with a bottle of booze and pizzed off at the world. Life is hard we can all get a fate worse then his.

I'm going to be that mean old bastard that all the neighbors are afraid of. You know the one. The crusty old guy with who sits on his porch swing with his shotgun and his one eyed dog who growls at everyone and yells at the neighborhood kids to stay off his lawn even though he barely has a lawn. I may even get an eye patch whether I need one or not. I want those rumors just like in the Sandlot that get passed on to all the kids in the neighborhood even though they aren't true. Except the crazy old man with a shotgun and a blind dog, of course.

at 64, i might be considered old to most of the people on here...but when i was in my thirties and forties you wouldn't have caught me dead, wasting my youth, attached to a computer chat site having insipid conversations with strangers for hours on end, as i see so many young people on here doing....*smh...what a waste...

oh btw...
is age just a number ?
what is love ?
i'm a nice guy, why doesn't......?
how can you tell if it's a scammer ?
and of course, the really important subjects like....guess the next poster ? whoa

see y'all later...i've got some snow to shovel...

My parents still go out dancing every week at 80 and 82. My dad was a farmer, always kept busy and still goes out to work on his garden every day. He can still run, uses the chainsaw and goes up on the roof to clean the gutters etc. They are still very much in love after 58 years of marriage. They only gave up camping in their tent in their mid 70's. Bless 'em.

I have fun on here, like many other young women do. And I have real friends on here, so not strangers.

Nah. I don't even have a dog right now. I do have a shotgun, but I don't sit on the porch with it, and the neighborhood kids know that I'm harmless.

Hm...I see myself being that guy..
What is the deal? At least he isn't sitting in his recliner watching tv all day..
As long as I am healthy and able, I most likely be doing something.
Even if it's a part time job.

I only hope I can make it to the ripe old age of 64.. and be as wise as you.
old wise owl that you are...
. and I hope when I'm at that age..
there is someplace similar to m2.
for me to .. to insert my wisdom..
... such as you do here..lol..
... some place to go and be social..
. someplace to stretch my creative self out on to..
. someplace to go to help keep my mind sharp......

. having such a place apparently has done wonders for you...drinker

Funny how when we were teenagers we all could not wait till we were 18 to do our own thing.. Then we wanted to be 21 to be legal age to drink.. Then many of us rushed to find that special one to have kids and on and on. Thinking everything would be better as we get older...

Then when we reach our 50's we wonder did we rush through life and not enjoy what we had at the time..

Myself getting older does not scare me nor do I wish to rush through life anymore. Now I want life to slow down a bit and let me enjoy what I have before me..

It is sad to think you may be alone as you grow older.. It is a fear of many as we get older.. But one can not rely on another to always be there. Learn to like being alone find things you like to do get into classes extra... to be around others that like to do what you like to..

It is up to each person if they close themselves off to the world and be that old man sweeping snow each day all wrapped up in his own little world.. not knowing what to do. Or they can be that one that joins groups to be around others volunteer for the local groups...

... I love the way you say just taking a certain amount to play with..mmm. ..

..... yes you might say I have a bit of a problem with casinos..lol... when you're winning it's great but when you're losing.. not so great...
.... now I just go with friends once in awhile.... actually I won $1000 before Thomas's birthday... used 700 to pay for his birthday..... spoiled... myself and the boys with remaining.. 200..
... and then 2 weeks later a friend of mine... wanted to go to casino.. I reluctantly went.... wanting to hang on to my last remaining 100..
.. but like an idiot I went put it into machine.. and .won 800....

... now I put 400 of that into silver..
...... and spent 200 on non essentials..
...... feeling very good about myself right about now.... at least that was until last night.... yep put the last 200 in and lost it all....loltears
