This poem is one I wrote back in 2002, a year after the Sept 11th tragedy. Hope you like it.

A Hero is Remembered

A year ago today, we still mourn our brave,
And unity will stand strong,
We will always remember this day in September,
Our hearts will always belong.
To those that survived and to those that had died,
It will always remain,
A hero is remembered, from that day in September,
Our thoughts will not go down in vain.

So lift your heads high, without a big sigh,
We will always be proud,
Wave your flag freely, and do just like me,
Ring your voices out loud.
I am proud to be free, and I fall to my knee,
God bless us everyone,
There's a hero to remember, on this day in September,
This thy will be done.

So remember our heroes, wherever you go,
Light a candle for peace,
Let it burn long, for they were strong,
They did not surrender at least.
They struggled and tried, they fought and had died,
Saving the injured and the weak,
A hero to remember, on this day in September,
For they are the mild and meek.
