I might as well have written this myself. I always find myself in situations where people have a hard time believing that I am introverted because I'm so extroverted when I'm with my friends and with people I get along with.
I'm very introverted upon meeting new people, I like to observe but the moment I feel comfortable, I jump right in. I've learned over the years to just be myself right away and because of this people have a difficult time believing that I'm shy by nature. It does suck when the people around you don't understand why you prefer a book over a crowd but keep doing what makes you happy. ![]() |

I suppose I'm a little introverted until I feel comfortable.
Then again, the only normal people I know are the people I don't know at all. |

Introverts are people who are energized by being alone and drained of energy by being around people...This doesn't mean they lack social skills, are apprehensive or avoid social situations because of anxiety, it just means they are introspective...They like to think about the big picture and they enjoy conversations that involve ideas and concepts as opposed to social small talk...And guess what, it's possible to be both...People who fit into this category express qualities and behaviors of both extroverts and introverts, depending on the situation...These personality types are called ambiverts...I am an ambivert personality....

I think I am way more introverted than extroverted, that's why I associate myself more with being intro. The people who get to see when I can be really outgoing and crazy are my friends and my family. Even after these crazy times I have with my friends, most of the time I honestly prefer spending time alone. People don't seem to understand it really. I think there are wayyy fewer introverts out there than we think. Maybe I am an introvert who is somewhat an ambivert. Does that make any sense at all? lol |

I am definitely introverted, with short bursts of extroverted frenzy.

I enjoy my alone time, cuz people swamp me when I go out socializing. It wears on me. Smiling so much and laughing from being the life of the party creates more and more wrinkles.

Hello everyone, I have always been considered an introvert, or just plain weird by people who don't know what an introvert is. Some people find it down right bizarre for a person to voluntarily stay at home on the weekend even when there are "fun" events going on. Once my own mother has told me that I should go out more and enjoy myself. What she doesn't understand is Wow chill. You seem cool. Life is yours to lead, do what makes you happy. Being good at pretending to do stuff just makes you kinda a psycho. Mums gave us life, but that was their choice, in their life, for whatever reason. As well as they might mean the second you pop out your life belongs only to you. |

My family definitely notices that I'm a bit introverted and urge me to reach out more. But it falls on deaf ears as I tend to do my own thing. I do love to go out and have fun, and I can be very spontaneous . . . I just prefer to be in a comfortable surrounding. Trying to click with new people can be exhausting. But I suppose that's why I'm here, to step outside my comfort zone in hopes to find a new experience.

Palmistry... A shortish little finger, (below the top section line of third finger), has always indicated shyness yet many people move to more talkative styles and some stay shy... Just one indicator of the introverted nature or long boney fingers, many...knox

I am INFP. We are only about 4% of the population.
The only way I can picture myself going into a crowded anything is if I have my camera. Without it I would see no point. I get photography/media passes for concerts or other public events. Walk in say Media as I walk past security. Give my name at the media desk to get my pass. Then for the remainder of the event I say nothing to anybody. Even to the cute guy that was peaking over my shoulder watching the LCD screen on the back of my camera. I say the bare minimum when I am out. I am constantly in observation mode. |
