The WHO, several years ago, said cell phones were the fastest growing addiction.
I don't doubt it.
I don't see it so much in my nearby area. But I drove someone to a medical appointment, in a
city, 80 miles from here. While he was in the clinic, I sat in my truck enjoying the beautiful spring day.
Almost everyone I saw walking by, had their faces stuck to their cell phone screens. They were
totally oblivious to everything around them. This included a young woman with several toddlers with her.
They could have run out in the street, with her none the wiser.

 so agree

see this all the time - children ignored completely- see ppl walking into other ppl and poles - no idea - Stoooopid !!!!

I believe this to be true.

When I am work I have to have it on me so my supervisors can contact me. On my days off. I just leave it on but I don't check it very often.

I do see most people with their faces looking at their cell phone screens where I live.

its ridicules... you are expected to always be connected. I have woke up and while having my morning coffee I am checking " the wire" to see what came overnight. I have had e-mails at high important.. stating "second request"!!... when the "first request" was sent at 3am..sleeping has become " goofing off on the job".. ridicules

I don't check mine during the night. I turn the volume as low as I can so I can't hear when a text or a call goes through.

Glad I don't have a boss that texts or emails me at 3 am or I would seriously quit!!!
