in a silly bit of a mood, and watching a bit of law and order I notice, (completely aware that I'm watching fiction), that often when people feel they are mistreated they make the loud declaration "I am a citizen of <place name of nation here>" as if its going to instantly change the course of action of those they feel are mistreating them,,, ,,, what things do you notice(in media or rt) that people often say that make you wonder what their point is? great smile in your new picture! well one thing I notice in police dramas is people running away when police are pointing a gun at them. I can't imagine that there is really that much running and chasing going on. cracks me up. yeah, I don't think officers usually do that much running either, lol but people having guns pointed at them or in other danger,,,,maybe,,, well I mean, wouldn't people just stop and obey if there is a gun pointed at them? seems a little chancey to give them a reason... most often they are running BEFORE the gun is pulled,, but after the gun is pulled, there may be the false belief that for someone to shoot you in the back would be murder,,, even for a cop maybe. but I wouldn't want to take my chances. |

as a non coffee drinker ,, the whole Starbucks establishment amazes me,,,, although I see to notice that they are strategically located in areas where people have a bit more money to spend,,, |

You should see how packed the one down the road is every day!
There are four Dunkin Donuts on the same street that Starbucks is on. I drink tea, no coffee, but you can buy tea bags and coffee and make it yourself. I think it might be a prestige thing! |

I completely agree.. it MUST be a prestige thing,, I think it also has to do with convenience. You just drive through and it's handed to you. No work to be done! Starbucks has created a culture. Even though they do seem to be located in middle to higher income areas, the "cafe to hang out in" culture they have created cuts across other cultural lines, i think. (as I see students there too who usually do not have much money). They started it with good coffee. The coffee is pretty good, and an interesting philosophy of corporate responsibility and environmental awareness (that also cuts across socio-economic strata) Then they added on the "place to hang out at" which had been missing in large part from our culture (with the dwindling ma & pa corner coffee shops that used to be in our disappearing mayberry-like small towns) anyway as you can tell, Starbucks to me represents in a lot of ways a statement about our culture, and the generation or two behind me that made a lot of it happen. Starbucks stands for more than over priced coffee IMO. corporate philosophy has replaced mayberry and nowhere is that more true than at Starbucks. |

Why Blondey111 measures the testicles on Greek statues.
Hmmm..I wonder if Blondey means the actual size of each testicle,
or if it's just uneven hanging. I'm not googling statues of naked Greek men. It might make me feel gay. And I don't want to go to sleep feeling gay. No offense meant toward my gay friends. |

They may have done a lot of heavy lifting back in the day. I'm all to familiar with inguinal hernia, resulting in slope sack. |
