The book would have to be "It" by the master himself, Stephen King. I never knew clowns could be that scary.

Not really into horror but I read Insomnia by Stephen King.
That was freaky. Sole survivor, Dean Koontz is another one I read which was strange. |

For me it was Jaws. I used to swim in n the sea every weekend as a kid. After watching that movie I never went back into it for 13 years.

My all time fav movie is Poltergeist. Not sure if i wanna see the remake, heard it was awful.
My all time fav book is of course IT by sk. Non-sk would be Jurassic Park the book. It was scary, the description of those animals/monsters on the loose. Idk if it was considered horror, but for me it was. I am going to have to make a list of books from ya'lls posts and get to readin more from other than sk. LOVE him, but think I need to get some others read for my variety. |

Worst/Best BOOK of all time: - put goose bumps on my full body while sun bathing = Poltergeist got to that part where that pigs head appeared in that upstairs window and I threw that book across the yard!
Broad daylight!!! Best 'Scary Movie'; hands down = JAWS 1975 once my roommate and I had screamed our way through it we drug our big-bad-assed BF's to go see it...they got so freaked out they ended up sitting 4 rows behind us by the exit doors and kept screaming 'GET THE F**K OUT OF THE WATER' at the top of their lungs! We were rolling LOL, once we looked back and they both were sitting with they're rearends up on the back of their seat backs screaming at the screen! BEST MOVIE EVER!!! |

Oh - YESSSSS; so long ago and yet that incident was such a shocking clear memory...you are exactly right! It was 'Amityville Horror' and they didn't do the movie justice; not at all. IMHO |

IMHO Totally agree with you, the book is definitely scarier than the movie. |

Favorite all time horror book- Needful Things
Favorite all time horror film- A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). This scared me to death (as a kid). Right up there is The Descent. |
