Uh, your profile says that you are age 22.
So, how would you know what it is like to be the single parent of a teenager?

Mine is still a baby, I've read it's hard when they're babies and then again when they're teens, so I would just be prepared for that. I have already set aside some money for my daughter's college one day because I figure she will need it and I probably won't have it later on. Somehow we as parents have to help them become self sufficient and let them be themselves at the same time.

this are the kind of replies i really needed.. thank you so much for reminding me about college... in my country, its better the education is free even if i want my daughter to go through a private school... and also i have a study policy for her too,, now i am scared that when she grows up, then she would want a father figure and i don't know where to touch when that happens,, but i am planning to be open to her in whatever way so she would be able to confide in me as her single parent.

Yes doing it all by yourself can be very hard! I've got 3 daughters. One is now 20 and thankfully she managed to survive her teenage years. It was rough for a few years, we tried everything to shelter her from anything that could do her harm; it didn't make a difference because they will do what they want to do and there's nothing you can do about it. My 13 year old can be a real peach some days too. Each child is different so what may work with one child might not work with another. Patience, guidance, love, direction, space, support, these are all things you need to provide in order to help your children grow and thrive. At the end of the day, they will make their own decisions and hopefully learn from their mistakes! Hope this helps!

flowerforyou I was a single parent for awhile with my own daughter and its a hard situation!! Being alone raising her was bad enough (but loved it) but afterwards getting into a relationship with a single mother was trying! She had a Daughter and when she turned 12 she respected nothing!! Going into a relationship (feel out) the others opinion on raising Children and set some rules for both adults in this situation! Remember its not just you anymore and you are allowing them to Pretisippate in raising your Children! At later years Children can become really angry and aggravating causing stress for Adults!! If this is not exceptible to you then (raise them alone) It may screw up another Good Adult!! Been there!!(Good Luck!!)

Hi, I read all of your post and couldn't agree more .. I have daughter and the thought of meeting someone is a tough road, and
trusting someone with her up bring I figure would be a lot easier
with another parent.. Yet it's adjustment to everyone.. We can't be the only ones to try and I would imagine that a lot great kids have come out this type of arrangement. So I hope.
