Mine is still a baby, I've read it's hard when they're babies and then again when they're teens, so I would just be prepared for that. I have already set aside some money for my daughter's college one day because I figure she will need it and I probably won't have it later on. Somehow we as parents have to help them become self sufficient and let them be themselves at the same time.

Yes doing it all by yourself can be very hard! I've got 3 daughters. One is now 20 and thankfully she managed to survive her teenage years. It was rough for a few years, we tried everything to shelter her from anything that could do her harm; it didn't make a difference because they will do what they want to do and there's nothing you can do about it. My 13 year old can be a real peach some days too. Each child is different so what may work with one child might not work with another. Patience, guidance, love, direction, space, support, these are all things you need to provide in order to help your children grow and thrive. At the end of the day, they will make their own decisions and hopefully learn from their mistakes! Hope this helps!

Hi, I read all of your post and couldn't agree more .. I have daughter and the thought of meeting someone is a tough road, and
trusting someone with her up bring I figure would be a lot easier with another parent.. Yet it's adjustment to everyone.. We can't be the only ones to try and I would imagine that a lot great kids have come out this type of arrangement. So I hope. |
