I notice there is more of a 'demand' for response and constant real time reaction in our culture

from people being called out on twitter for what they HAVENT posted about (recently azalea banks went on a twitter tirade against Iggy Azalea for not having posted anything about the choking death of Darren Wilson)

to public figures being criticized for where they HAVENT gone or what they HAVENT said,, or more accurately, what the media hasn't AKNOWLEDGED them having said or done,,,,(in a current thread a public figure is criticized for not being at certain places or certain events)

and even when posting in public forums I notice that a lack of response in a certain time frame draws ridicule and assumptions about ones ability to debate or about the validity of ones point

is the culture slightly ridiculous with this idea that people are disinterested or incapable if they choose not to participate at a certain time or venue in a public statement?

I think the problem with any written statement is the fact that you cannot convey the emotion behind the message, apart from getting very verbose, which places like twitter & the such like wont allow. I think a lot of this is due to the fact that the general population are very lazy & people havent got the patience to read nowadays. They want things in bite sizes pieces, & you cant have that if you want to get your point across.

I quite honestly miss the days of posting our tweets
on the walls of public washrooms.
Maybe people were less craving of attention and fame
back then.

if one look to prove how it is so one will see demand across the board in all things of society has increased many times over.

and yet 99 percent of all who post seem to share similar 'western' values,,,,,(freedom, personal value equaling earned income, instant expectation from those in the public eye,,,etc)

Im speaking of the 'culture' that I witness as predominant across the states I have lived in in the US and within this thread,,,,if that is specific enough,,,flowerforyou

I agree. I finally gave in to owning a cell phone, and still have only used it once to call my job,, seems like a total waste of money,, but that 'in case' could come up where my kids are involved or the car breaks down,,,,

I don't get twitter, facetime, etc,,,, AT ALL

I soo miss the old days where people weren't drowned in information of varying degrees of truth,,,,and triviality....flowerforyou
